Great Festival Temple(Akhmenu) - Karnak Temple
This memorial temple was built by Thutmosis III after the death of Hatshepsut and dedicated to the creative power of Amun-Re and the royal power need to create world order. The name Akhmenu refers to it as the place of "transfiguration" where divine and royal power combine to preserve creation.
The building faces north and is behind the Middle Kingdom temple and can only be entered from the south end. It has an area of 78.76m. x 38.84m. The lower side isles has simple pillars
Also known as the Hall of Ceremonies, much of the coloured decoration can still be seen on the columns.
