Our holiday in Egypt
This ruined coptic church is in the last courtyard between the eighth and ninth pylons at Karnak Temple in Luxor, Egypt. It is believed that touching the statue three times followed by touching your chest over your heart three times gives one a long and happy life

There were many influences to go to Egypt- a lifelong facination with ancient civilisations; the art, writings, architecture, buildings and accomplishments of people who lived so long ago; and especially the enthusiasm and dedication of the lecturers and staff at both Sydney and Macquarie universities - especially Dr Gai Callender.
