Advent Hanger
With a pocket for every day of the month to put a sweet or small treat for a child
(hint, only put the treat in the one pocket at a time or they will all go on the first day)
Materials needed
1 piece of dowel 16in long x ¾ in (36cm x 2cm) diameter
1 24in (60cm) length of cord to hang the bag
1 piece of felt 14in wide x 17in long (36cm x 44cm) red or colour of your choice
1 piece of felt 10in x 10in (26cm x 26cm) white or colour of your choice
embroidery thread in green or colour of your choice for the numbers
To Make Up
1. cut the white felt into 25 2 x 2 inch squares (5cmx5cm).
2. cross stitch a number on each piece or any suitable stitch of your choice.
3. set them out as in the finished diagram.
4. sew round 3 sides, leave the top open
5. fold the red felt over the dowel and sew across to make a casing for the dowel.
6. tie the cord around each end of the dowel, so you can hang it up.
