Biography:

Matthew Langford Perry was born on August 19, 1969 in Williamstown Massachussetes. He and his mother moved to Ottawa, Ontario, after his parents divorced when he was one year old. When he was in Canada, Matthew became a top-ranked junior tennis player. Then, after moving to Los Angeles at the age of 15 to live with his father, actor John Bennett Perry, he became more interested in acting. Matthew went to Buckley school in Los Angeles, and Ashbury High School. He was going to enroll at the University of Southern California, but was offered a leading role on the televsision show, "Boys Will Be Boys". That's when he began his acting career. Besides acting, Matthew also likes to write. Before he auditioned for Friends, he sold his first pilot called "Maxwell's House" to Universal Television. He also likes to play ice hockey, softball, and he continues to play tennis. Matthew now lives in Los Angeles, and it is going to be his 7th season on Friends!
