Dungeon of Dispair Walkthrough

This is the walkthrought for the DoD in Vagabonds Quest. This guide is very accurate but no person is perfect and i know there are flaws in this guide. So please dont send me e-mails that say"Hey you said that so & so enemies give 300 exp but they really give 301 exp!" Stuff like that because I wont respond to them. So why bother? During the way through I will give you personal tips on what to get, what enemies give good exp and gold, and what not to do. After the end of each level I will post the stats for each monster in the level. Ok! Now to the Guide!

Level 1-Gildern Mine
--------------------
You start out at the entrance of the cave. Take a right and you will run into a fight.

Make quick work of the Imp then he should drop a short dagger.

~Tip~ This one is for Psionics and Wizards. Before you go to your respective halls and spend money on weapons, come here and beat the imp for a free short dagger so you dont waste your money on weapons that you dont use half the time.

Move east until you run into a battle. After the battle there is a sign that you can read.

The sign reads:Wanted Dead

The Leader of the Imp attacks is wanted dead. Any hero brave enough to meet him in combat should talk to Yultial in the tavern for instruction.

200 Gold Reward.

Proceed east once more and you will reach the Gildern Town Center. Going north takes you to an armor shop. To the east is a weapon shop and to the south is the tavern, training ground, and the Gildern guild. Go south two and you will arrive at a man. If he is not there press the "R" button on the screen until he is. Talk to him and pick the first opition. Depending how much exp you have he will give you a key to the mines or a key for the training grounds. If you dont have enough exp to get into the mine go to the training grounds. To get to the training ground go north then west and you will be there. After about 10 battles with minor imps go back to the man and ask again. He will give you a key to the mine.
---------------
Side-Quest
---------------
This side quest has to do with the sign you read earlier. After you get the mine key from the man go north than east. You will be in the tavern. Talk to the man in there and he will tell you to kill the imp leader. So go west and north. Then go east three times. You should have the option to go north. Take that route and you will be attacked by 2 imps. After the 2 imps you will be attacked by the imp leader. This may be a tricky battle if your weak because you cant heal inbetween battles. If you manage to defeat the imp leader go back to the Tavern and talk to the man for an easy 200 gold!
---------------
End Side-Quest
---------------
After getting the key to the mine go north twice then west 3 times and you should be back at the beginning of the level but if you look you can go west again. Go west and south to fight a Giant Spider. Beat the spider and grab the white potion.
Go north and west. Head south until you run into a fight with another spider. Kill it and move east. Once you get to the guard tell him this is your first time then move on. In this room there is a letter. It reads:

Kill the miners in the soot pits and escape to the passageway to the north. This shortcut will lead you back to the general store where you can make your escape in the deeper levels on the mine. You'll have to time your attack around 18:00 because the switch for the door is only visible from 18:00 to 22:00.

May blood cover the world, Aries

So wait until 18:00 then flip the moonlight switch on. Go north and flip the "Stairs down" switch on. Then go west and go down.

You will end up in the Second level of the Gildern Mines. Take the red potion and go north until you reach a fight with an evil eye and an imp. After the fairly hard fight with them move north until you reach a folk in the road. Go east twice and you will fight 2 imps(I think). After defeating the Imps you can go east again to fight a hell hound. After the duel grab the potion and whatever equipment you need and go west again. Go north and you should be hit by a trap. Dont bother healing because they just keep hitting you. Go north again. You should run into an evil eye. Kill it and turn the switch on. If you want more exp go left and you will fight an apprentice mistress. After the fight go back east then go south twice and west four times.
Go west again if you want more equipment and a potion but if you dont really care go south twice. Here you will fight another evil eye. After beating it flip the switch and go north four times. Yet another evil eye is waiting to whack you one. Kill it fast so you can move on. Once done with the evil eye. Flip the switch. Now you can go east. If you go east you fight a flesh hound. After the fight go west and then go south twice.
Then go east four times and go south to fight YET ANOTHER EVIL EYE! After finally killing the last one of those evil eyes in this puzzle flip the switch. Go north twice and west twice. There should be a book there.
The book for Psionics,Wizards, and Priests is Demonic Storm and for Fighters,Thieves,Paladins, and Tracers its Demonic Attack.

Go north to fight 2 evil eyes. They should be quick work for those who have Demonic Attack. The spellcasters may still have some trouble with these guys. Then there should be an down button if not go north once more. After going down you will be out of the level.
