The Way Kids Work, Inc
The Way Kids Work™ is a non-profit organization designed to teach children from ages of 7-12 to use computers and their programs not just for entertainment, but also as a tool to enrich their future. TWKW will focus on the children in the urban community and rural areas that may not have computers in the home or that attend schools with few computer classes programs. Children will have the opportunity to explore computer based career paths so that they will be inspired to set goals and shape their future. TWKW believes that we must encourage our children at an early age to desire to be valued assets to their communities and become examples for the generation after them; ultimately creating a better environment for everyone. We feel that a huge part of the youth’s involvement in gangs, violence, sex, and drugs is based on not having personal goals and aspirations. They aren’t encouraged to gain any skills outside of the basic education. We should be encouraging them to become graphic designers, engineers, and architects instead of leaving them to become gangsters, delinquents, and drug users. If these children have nothing significant to look forward to as the adults of tomorrow we have to show them the opportunities today. Aside from providing classes TWKW also plans on donating computers to schools, youth centers, group homes, and families in these communities. Overall we feel that in these days and times it is crucial that we instill more skills into our youth so that they are able to explore their options as young adults.
