Maize PRIDE has begun a new project. This project is to find our neighbors who might need help. Not just with their houses, and yards, whatever needs they have we want to try and help them. Our first project was on March 17th 2002. Anyone interested in helping should contact Danny Collins@729-4096
Maize PRIDE is a grassroots effort to improve the quality of life in Maize. Our goal is to mazimize community and economic development efforts by encouraging all groups to coordinate and work collaboratively for community betterment.
March 17th 2002
Maize PRIDE and many volunteers from the community came together to help a neighbor in need. We began work at 12:30 and went well into the evening. There was a lot to be done, but no one seemed to mind. From the old to the young everyone chipped in, saw what needed to be done and hand in hand with their fellow neighbors did it. After the work was done Dave and Jody Adams invited everyone to their house for dinner. Hamburgers, potato salad chips, and sodas were a welcome treat. Thank you to all the many volunteers who came together to make a difference in their community. The project was completely finished March 23rd 2002 with the final dirt work leveling the yard. Maize PRIDE hopes to continue the Neighbor In Need Project until there are no longer neighbors in need.
Our Mission Statement:To nurture bonds within the community, by promoting projects that build community strength and spirit, as well as promote a warm hometown fellowship. Maize PRIDE is a volunteer-based organization whose focus is to build on our unique heritage and form a vision of the future.
