Give It To Me Straight

Today I realised the writing's on the wall
Your telephone is busy every time that I call
Something tells me Baby there's something going on
I still love you Honey but our loving is gone
Give it to me straight oh
Give it to me straight
I can't see no reason why I should wait
I can stand the pain so
Give it to me straight
I was talking to your mother in the mall this afternoon
She said I hope you find another woman real soon
I said to her Martha hey what you talking 'bout
She said oh Honey ain't you found out oh
Give it to me straight.....
Rock Bottom

I spent years looking through the end of a bottle
I paid for every hotel here in town
I don't know how many times someone took me home
Or just how many times I let you down
My cousin Billy said you'd better quit your drinking
Before you lose 'bout everything you've got
You've got to take the time to face what you've been doing
Which lately hasn't been one heck of a lot
I guess when you first met me I looked like such a good time
And you were having such a good time too
But when we started a home I just kept on drinking
I guess I really changed your point of view
They say you've gotta hit ROCK BOTTOM before you'll quit your drinking
And it's different for each person that is true
I just wish I could have stopped and seen how things were going
Rock bottom was the day that I lost you
When you left last week I felt so doggone lonely
I couldn't even find my way downtown
Thought I'd call somebody up but I just felt so stupid
My head was spinning round and round and round
They say you've .........
Barry's Song
Someone said that life isn't always fair
And right now that's the way it seems to me
Guess I'm feeling sorry for myself
But that's the way it has to be
Sometimes I feel like nothing's going right
Sometimes I'm losing control
Sometimes I feel like giving up the fight
Sometimes there seems to be no point at all
But then I look in the mirror and there I am
My friends and family need me to stay strong
They see the person and the man I am
And I know that I belong
When I wonder how the road ahead might be
When I'm mad about what's happening to myself
When I look back at the things I've done in life
It seems wrong that I'm the one who now needs help
But then I look in the mirror....
