WHAT IS A FOOD BANK?
The LRFB is a non-profit organization which collects, stores, and distributes otherwise wasted food. This food is only distributed to tax-empt non-profit organization, which in turn provide a service to many hungry and needy people in your community.

Acording to recent statistics, 12 million tons of edible food are wasted each year in Texas alone.
LRFB can handle all forms of food including frozen and dry goods.
GOOD FAITH DONOR ACT
Contributors of food are not liable for damages arising from contribuations according to the Good Faith Donor Act passed by the Texas Legislature in 1981.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
VOLUNTEERS can always be used to:
help raise funds
solicit food
help distribute food
answer telephones
enlist community support
FINANCIAL NEEDS will always exist. You can make a financial contribution by writing a check to the Laredo Regional Food Bank.
EQUIPMENT, WAREHOUSE, AND TRANSPORTATION are immediate needs of the Laredo Regional Food Bank.
TAX ADVANTAGE
By contributing to a non-profit organization such as Laredo Regional Food Bank, you can receive tax benefits. Warehouse space, transportation, food donations can all be deducted under the 1976 Tax Reform Act (100 percent wholesale plus 50 percent retail profits).
