GARDENS OF DISTINCTION is a small Landscape Design company located in Fircrest, WA. We specialize in residential landscapes and can accomodate most any budget. Emphasis is placed on functional as well as aesthetic landscapes.
The landscape you have always wanted can be yours! Beautiful flowers, lush grass, private retreats...whatever your desires for your grounds we can design it for you.
GARDENS OF DISTINCTION is available to suit most any budget, whether you are considering a small kitchen herb garden, or a private retreat complete with waterfall and exotic plants, we tailor every design to match the owners' needs.
We offer two different approaches to design: A simple onsite consultation. This enables the homeowner to gain perspective, and to give direction as to what may be accomplished with their landscape. There is an hourly charge of $32.00 for this service,(minimum of 3 hours).
The second is the Master Design, necessary when undertaking a large construction project, renovation, or when perennial, herb, or water features are developed.
When considering a design, the initial step is to meet the homeowner and to get an idea of how the space is to be utilized. What budget constraints may be included, and to what degree the client wishes to be involved in the planning of their landscape.
The second phase is the site evaluation. This may include renderings, photos, drafting, etc... Critical information is used in the formulating the creation of your landscape. Soil samples, weather, percolation factors, site usage and access, prevailing winds, traffic flow, color and contrast, and more!... All play an intrical part in the designs' final outcome.
With the proper information, the designer can approach the project with confidence that the clients needs will be satisfied.
A rendering of the project is next. The client will be contacted and shown examples of landscapes from which they might choose. Slightly altering one of the examples to suit the owner fine-tunes the design. Once all parties have agreed to the desired outcome, the design will enter it's last and final stage.
The completed design in additon to a listing of the plant material used, will be given to the customer. Pertinent information about the growth,stucture and maintenance concerns of their landscape will be included.
If requested, an estimate for the cost of the project can be discussed at this point, however; this is not part of the design package.
To convey ideas and information, GARDENS OF DISTINCTION work closely with landscape and irrigation companies in the Tacoma area, and can recommend some exceptional contractors should you choose to have your landscape constructed professionally. Upon completion of your landscape, a final walk through is arranged to ensure complete satisfaction.
