Zanti Lovar, chief instructor of Lovar Combat Arts, has been involved in martial arts & boxing since the age of 5.
Zanti is a certified instructor, under Paul Vunak (founder of PFS), in Progressive Fighting Systems, Jeet Kune Do Concepts, and Filipino Martial Arts which include Escrima/Kali, and Kina Mutai (stick fighting, knife fighting, empty hand techniques, biting & eye gouging & the mind set to survive at all costs). His wife Tracy, & their 3 children also train, "It's a family affair."
Zanti abides by the JKD philosophy of "Use what is functional and throw away the rest." JKD covers the Striking range (hand or foot), engaging range, and the grappling range along with other core elements. A JKD practitioner ideally continues to grow as a martial artist & as a person. As a result, each person ends up with an individualized way of fighting & a more aware & open mind.
Jeet Kune Do is a formless art, which can enhance anyone's general awareness and physical attributes, regardless of your experience in martial arts and fighting or lack thereof. "Our motto is 'Strike, Engage, Grapple' whether it be with your mind or your body." A Verbal engagement is a lot safer than a physical confrontation. It's advantageous to learn to use one's mind, (i.e., a verbal deescalation of a possibly dangerous situation.), and body(i.e. deflection of a strike, take down, application of a joint lock, a strike of one's own, or a combination / blending, of 2 or more of the physical techniques mentioned above), giving the JKD practitioner options.

Zanti currently resides in Columbia Missouri with his wife and four children.June, 30, 2004 will be the last class for Lovar Combat arts, at Zen Kick Boxing. Zanti will be taking the summer off from class instruction to spend more time with his newly born daughter & family. Hopefully fall will find LCA( Lovar Combat Arts), back in Zennie's training facility. Thank you Zennie for the allowing me to use your training center for JKD instruction.

The Lovar's have a new addition to thier family!
On May 20th, 2004 @ 2136 hrs. (9:36 p.m.) Tracy Lovar delivered, by cessarian section, Amanda Lee Lovar. Amanda weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. at birth she was 3 weeks early, after some early complicatins, Amanda Lee is now perfectly healthy. A little fighter from her first breath, she is a welcome part of the Lovar family. Amanda Lee came home as expected on May 27th, 2004. Tracy & Amanda are both doing well at home.
Please keep Baby Amanda & (Tracy) Mama Lovar, in your prayers & well wishes.

Lovar Combat Arts will have a new class schedule for 2004. Wednesdays same time 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. still at Zen Kickboxing.
