John stared solemnly at her. She simply stood there, with not an emotion to display upon her statuesque face. How his heart longed for just a grace of a touch across her cheekbone. For another glorious smile, sparkling eyes, and that ever so delightful laugh. This woman had died with her lover. And now he was staring at the shell of what used to be.
She blinked. His heart fluttered. Taking a step back, he lowered his head. She passed by without incident. Gone. He sniffed the air, in hopes of catching the alluring scent of her hair. Nothing.
