PLEASE LEAVE US A MESSAGE IN OUR GUEST BOOK & Go TO OUR GALLERY
(10-29-09)Arrived at Anchors Aweigh for the winter. Got an extra long site for our truck, RV, and car with room to spare. Joined the Y to get plenty of exercise. Lindy walks Montana in the park.
(8-10-09)We picked up our new 2010 Mobile Suites 38RLSSB4.

(6-15-09)2010 Mobile Suites I used 3 floor plans and picked the things I liked, so we have no idea what the model will be called.
(2-20-09)We arrived in Foley at Palm Lake RV Resort near Gulf Shores on Feb. 1st. We are close to some friends and like the fact it is close to shopping, good food and the beach. Most days it may be too cool to walk on the beach but never too cool to just sit at Bahama Bob's and enjoy watching the tides or ride down the road and take in the beauty of the Ocean and the white sand.
(2-9-09)We spent a week in Panama City Beach and it was cool until the last 2 days. I did get my "need to see a beautiful beach fix". Got a Jimmy Buffet Burger, saw 2 good movies and did some bargain shopping. We stayed at Camper's Inn across from the beach.
(1-11-09)Another beautiful warm day here in Zephyrhills,FL. We arrived here at Palm View Gardens RV Resort Jan. 1 and were a little disappointed that it was mostly Park Models with a few scattered sites for RVs where Park Models use to be. The Wifi advertised was at the office and half the dryers and Wifi at the sites had not worked for a long time. Calls to Wilder Corp. to complain were not returned. Our son Chris and his wife Laura flew down for a few days so that helped our spirits. We scouted out other parks for Feb. and had no luck. We took Laura and Chris to the Tampa airport this afternoon and then drove across Tampa Bay and came home and took our second walk in the park. People are really friendly here and now that we have internet with at&t, we are content. Montana chases the ducks that waddle to the pond, the cats that have multiplied at one ladies park model and the squirrels that play around the trees. Neighbors left out a basket of grapefruit, and we took some for breakfast until they were gone. Strawberries are in now and we bought some and had strawberry shortcake last night. The park is full of flowers in bloom and it makes you forget it is Jan. I call my parents often and they seem to be doing ok. The rest, warm weather and sunshine have done wonders for me, but they are never far from my mind. Betsy and Dave are still holding down the View for us. We miss family but not the the cooler weather. The water, Palm trees, warm weather and sunshine are good medicine.
(12-23-08)We are on our way back to Gulf Shores after a very bitter sweet month in TN. Dad had his mitral valve repair surgery as scheduled and 30 minutes after he was extubated he crashed and finally after what seemed forever, he was brought back after 3 shocks and numerous medications. Lindy, my daughter who is a RN and I were in the room. It was very scary and nothing I ever want to witness again. They reintubated and sedated him until the next day and the rest of the stay was ok. My son who is also a RN in ICU in Dallas flew in the day of his surgery as a surprise. He was allowed to stay with him at night in the ICU Monday and Tuesday. My daughter stayed with him all day long Monday and Tuesday. I sure was a proud mom. I stayed the 3rd night and then he was moved to a room. My sister and brother stayed their turns as well. My second brother was on the boat and I'm sure was miserable until he finally got home. Dad was in the hospital for 8 days instead of the predicted 5. Just 5 days later we drove him back to Vanderbilt in a rush with a heart rate of 132. They tried medications to bring down the rate but ended up cardioverting him to shock his heart into a slower better heart rate. This time my brother Eric was home and stayed until we begged him to go home and rest. Dad came home Thursday and seems to be doing well. Home health nurses are monitoring his Coumadin levels and his recovery. A young lady in the community stayed with my Mom and is still there until my Dad is stronger and able to lift and regain his strength. It was hard to leave, but they never asked us to stay and they both know I do not do well in cold weather.
My daughter and grandchildren came in for the weekend to celebrate Christmas with us and her grandparents. The weather was extremely cold the entire time we were in TN and the thought of weather in the 70's sounds like heaven.
(11-13-08)About 3 weeks before our trip my Dad had a problem with his heart and spent 8 days in the hospital. He has to have Heart Valve surgery at Vanderbilt Hospital Dec. 1. We will be going back the end of Nov. for his surgery and stay until the last week of Dec. We hope to be able to continue on to FL for Jan. and Feb. 09. We are having a great time. We ate at the famous throwedrolls.com called Lamberts and yes they do throw rolls and they are good. Wow was it a great place to overeat in a hurry. Bahama Bob's with a beach view is a great place to eat anything! We are doing a lot of walking and biking and getting a lot of rest. We are staying at Island Retreat, but the Tropical Bird Business behind us is a big negative. We met 2 couples from the Montana RV forum and decided we are going to move to Anchors Aweigh where one couple is staying. Love the weather and our Mobile Suites. The McNairs are house sitting and staying in our RV site at The View.
(9-22-08)We just got back from a 2 week trip to TX to visit our son and took our time getting there and back. Had a great time. Lindy loved the 2009 leveling system. Setting up is so easy now. We are really pleased with our 2009 Mobile Suites 36TK3. Felt right at home. Stayed in the RV instead of our sons house because he had hookups.
(8-8-08)After 8 nights in the Heartland Landmark Augusta on 4 different short trips, we decided we it was not for us. We found a dealer in Memphis that sold Heartlands and Mobile Suites by Double Tree. We had wanted a Mobile suites since we saw one in 2005. That is what we should have bought instead of the Cambridge, but can't could'a would'a should'a it to death. The Memphis dealer didn't have the floorplan we wanted but got one from the factory that a dealer had ordered and changed his mind. It was the floor plan and carpet I would have ordered. They gave us a great deal so I can say I got my dream birthday gift. Lindy is so excited about the new leveling system and how well it is made.
(3-5-08)After looking at several types of RVs, we bought a 2009 Landmark Augusta made by Heartland. We considered the Big Horn very seriously, but the Landmark looked more like the Cambridge on the outside and I loved the kitchen.
2-9-08)Wow, we never dreamed we'd miss our RV so much! The cold weather has really taken a toll on us emotionally and physically. I've been too sick to help my Mom and Dad as much as I'd like and guess what? They made it just fine. They appreciate what we do, but I've learned something in the process. My Dad is doing much more when it comes to helping Mom with meals. Watching the 2 of them adjusting to aging together and doing what it takes in their own way and in their own time has taught me a great deal. They never asked us not to go somewhere warmer for the winter, but they haven't asked us to stay either. We made the choice to give up the whole dream and realized that maybe there is a compromise. We can't protect them from whatever is going to happen as they age and believe me, they both can still work circles around us and they want to do it themselves and sometimes our help gets in the way or is not what they want. I've said all this to say, that we have decided to buy another RV and take shorter trips and not put off our dream completely.
(11-23-07)We sold our beloved Cambridge to a wonderful couple so that it will not go unused. It was a very hard decision. They bought the truck too, so we had to go get Lindy a 2008 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD. We still believe that some day we will be able to travel after my parents no longer need us. We are really enjoying our new house and never tire of our beautiful view of the TN river as it flows and bends for several miles. The leaves are falling and we can see even more of the river. Lindy is enjoying our dog Montana who has grown to be very BIG. Life is still very good and we are blessed.
(9-6-07)The house is finished and we are almost settled into this beautiful life on "The View". We still see our traveling pictures on our screen saver and are so thankful we saw so much of our beautiful country and we still have urges to hit the road and head West. As it turned out the weather in any direction this year was unpredictable. We are firm believers that life unfolds as it should and when the time is right we will travel, at least for short periods. We just celebrated my Moms 80th birthday! Our children and grandchildren are doing well. Life is good.
(5-29-07)We traded the Kodiak 4500 and our 1500 for a 2007 3500 HD 4x4 and a 2007 Chevy HHR. We also started construction of a small house on "The View" overlooking the TN river. So far since Jan. we have stayed close to my parents. We love spending time with them and feel so blessed that they both are doing well enough to do as much as they do. My Mom has surprised the doctors. She tires easily, but still does much of the cooking now.
(2-7-07)Today we made the painful decision to sell our RV and Truck and put off our traveling as long as our family needs us here in TN.
(1-30-07)Wow, things have moved fast for us and we are having to put full timing on hold until my parents no longer need us close by in TN. We missed The View, but not the cold weather. Parents come first, so no traveling for awhile. We rushed back from AZ and cancelled trips to CA and Oahu because my Mom had a heart attack.
