La Juanda Huff Bishop was born in Commerce, Texas to Algia and Bernice Huff. She is the third of eight children and one of only two daughters. She began traveling around the country as a military dependent at age two and has lived in many states and overseas.
her interest in writing romance started at age thirteen while living in Germany where she would write short romance stories to share with her peers.
She spent much of her younger years reading poetry and historical romance stories and listening to her mother's tales of clandestine love affairs of people in her birthplace during the thirties and forties She would sit spellbound by these stories and now she has used much of the information in her own stories of romance.
But, it wasn't until the tragic death of her oldest daughter that she began to write seriously.
She has three children, Tracy ,who lives in Phoenix, Marcus in Minnesota and Charles (J.R) who lives in Tucson, Arizona. She lives with husband Ted in southern Arizona.
She is currently working on a journal which chronicles her own journey from the terrible night of her sixteen year old daughter's tragic death twenty-two years ago to the present.
