GAGYA LACHUNGSOTA
THE Gagya Lachungsota was born on the first day of the seven-month of the Wood-Horse year (1956). He is the only son of Gagya Togden Wangnor Rinpoche of the Gagya family in the Gertse town, Ngari, in northern Tibet. His Father called him Sonam Tashi Gagya.At the age of five Lachungsota was admitted in the Tibetan School in India. He obtained a bachelor degree in Business from North Bengal University, India. He has served Tibetan Govt. in exile under the dynamic Leadership of H H The Dalai Lama as an Accountant and Auditor for the last seventeen years.Through many years of study and practice with some of the greatest meditation masters of our time Lachungsota achieved success in many Tantric Buddhist practices. He is most well known for his attainment in the Chod- cutting through the Ego and Dzogchen teachings. In 1997 Gagya Lachungsota was petition by his Wife Tsultrim D.Gagya to the United States of America. He is still practicing chod and other tantric practices and planning to setup Vajrayana Tsecho Neargna Center in Vacaville Northern California.
*** H H THE DALAI LAMA ***
Gagya Lachungsota has received the great empowerment of the Kalachakra three times and the White Tara initiation from HH the Dalai Lama in Bodh Gaya, India. He practiced the White Tara root mantra 1,500,000 times. The Essence of ongoing Yoga for Kalachakra and the White Tara Sadhana are, to this day, a part of his continuous practice. Also received the Chenrizik initiation and Chodjuck empowerment from H H The Dalai Lama.
**** H H THE KARMAPA RANGJUNG RIGPAS DORJE ****
In 1965 Karampa has recognized him as an incarnation of Lachungsota from eastern Tibet Monastery. But his Father Togden Wangnor Rinpoche wants him to study in the Tibetan Government School and wish to work as a staff under H H The Dalai Lama's Government in Exile at Dharamsala, India.
*** KYABJE KARMA GYALPO RINPOCHE ***
To satisfy his own wishes Gagya Lachungsota proceeded to the famous Tsa-Lung Nyingmapa Lama, Karma Gyalpo Rinpoche. From him Lachungsota completed the five stages of Ladrup Konchok Cheedu Ngondro practice in 1976 and also received the treasury of teachings called Rigzin Sogdup and Khandro Thugthig. Also received the empowerment of Rewo Sang Chod. In 1995-96 Lachung Sota received the complete secret instruction of Dzogchen Teachings including powa and the practice of the Three Roots (Lama, Yidam and Khandro) at Pharping retreat center, Nepal till he flew to united states. Through Rinpoche's wisdom, blessing, power and kindness Lachungsota realized the Dzogchen view.After succeeding in the practice of Tsa-Lung (winds and channels) Lachungsota was designated a Tsa-Lung Lama and ordered to hold and increase the Lineage of Go-kar-chang-lo i de.
*** KYABJI LAMA WANGDOR RINPOCHE ***
In 1981 Lachungsota received the complete Chod (Cutting the attachment to body and Ego) initiations and empowerment from Lama Wangdor Rinpoche at Rewalsar (Tso pema), India. Under the guidance of Maha Yogi Karma Tharchin Rinpoche with ten other chodpas, received the oral instruction on the text and commentary of the preliminary practice of the Chod Tsok Rinchen Tringwa. Practiced and meditated for one hundred and ten days in the Upper Cave at Rewalsar, India. Also Lachungsota received the secret instruction and oral transmission of three stages of mind trainings (Jong Nay Dro Sum) and realized the mind view of without signs, beginning less and emptiness.
