The Story of Kurt Stebner
"Unshackled!" is the longest running dramatic series in radio history. Aired first in 1950 over a single radio station in Chicago, it is now heard worldwide over 1600 outlets. It presents the true stories of real people who have had life changing encounters with God. Some of the stories feature direct involvement with the turbulent and stressful period during and following World War II.
Such is the case with Kurt Stebner, a soldier in the German army who fought all over Europe. He was eventually captured by the British and became a POW. After the war, he and his wife became born-again Christians and, through the sponsorship of a religious organization, emigrated to the United States.
