Kurt's Song
KURT'S SONG
This site is dedicated to Kurtis Roy Larson, 1963 - 1999.
Kurt had a love & gift of music. Through his participation in music programs throughout his education, he was able to develop his talent and make a life and living from music. Kurt so loved and appreciated this gift that he chose to pass it on to others, as a performer and as a teacher. He infused everyone whose life he touched with the joy of music. He supported music education in a myriad of ways: as teacher, as music camp leader and counselor, as an assistant to fellow directors, and as a skilled instrument repairman. He often donated his time and mastery with no expectation of any monetary return: instead, receiveing the greatest of gifts: respect, appreciation & love.
WHO ARE WE? We are a group of people who loved and respected Kurtis Roy Larson, and have formed a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) public charity in his memory.
Our Board consists of retired music teachers and other caring people who volunteer to make a difference by supporting music and performing arts & education.
INSTRUMENT DONATION:
We seek any unwanted musical instruments that may be stored in attics & closets. We collect, repair and then allocate them to deserving children.
PERFORMANCE MINI-GRANTS:
We provide monies in the form of scholarships for teachers to award their students to be used as needed. Some of the needs that are met are: Music Lessons, Fees, Classes, Field Trips, Instrument Parts and much more.
OUR MISSION:
Through generous donations and fundraisers, we shall continue to provide for as many children as our funds allow. We hope you will join us in our endeavor of continued support to deserving children in music and performing arts education.
(Our Board of Directors and committee chairpersons are all volunteers. No one receives a salary.)
