The Koran Kareem speaks of a great mystery in the second surah often referred to as "the Cow", between the 60th and 70th verses is the tale of a great and wonderful truth.
The story relates how in the days of Nabi Musa (P.B.U.H) there was a man found dead, the unfortunate was touch by part of a sacrificail cow and came to life....here we see Allah using a sacrifice or Korban to take one wich was dead and make him a living soul!
The Cow mentioned in the Koran relates to the Heifer mentioned in the Holy Books (Tawrat:Deuteronomy 21.4-6), also we find in the Tawrat that a sacrificail Cow was used to cleanse Nabi Musa's people and make them right before Allah.(Tawrat Numbers 19.17). So what truths can be gleaned from this story of the Korban that gave life?
We also a Korban/Sacrifice being used by Allah to spare a life in Tawrat Genesis this time sparing the son of Nabi Ibraheem
(P.B.U.H.),an account also noted in the Koran,where though condemned to death by Allah's divine command,a Ram is used to spare the boy's life and die in his place.(Tawrat Genesis 22.2)
again in the Tawrat Musa Uses a Korban to save his people from Firoun's (Pharoah) Kingdom of Slavery and Oppression,(Tawrat Exodous ch.12)
In an overview of these passages from the Holy Books we see that Korban is used to give life to those deemed in the power of death. according to the prophets these accounts were but a shadow of Allah's greater plan. Nabi Isaiah a descendant of Nabi Dawood and Nabi Suleiymon ( David and Solomon) wrote of one who would be led like a lamb to the slaughter,(Tawrat:Isaiah 53.7) not a simple dumb beast but one called the Servant Of the Lord,and the chapter closes with a promise that this one who is like a sacrifical korban will make intercession of behalf of transgressors or those who break Allah's divine commands.
Centuries after this was written down Nabi Yahia (John the Baptist) Finally revealed the deep truth of this great and holy mystery of the Korban when he saw Sayyidna Al-Masih (Messiah), he said Look the Lamb of God which takes away the sins of the world! (Injeel:John 1.29).
The Holy Books tell us Al-Masih was offered to Allah on the great Korban feast in memory of Musa's passage from death and slavery to life and freedom.(Starting from Injeel:John 19.14 the account can be read), and as proof that Al-Masih's sacrifice was the ultimate life giving korban....Allah raised him from the dead three days later.(injeel:John 20.3-17).
Allah has provided a Korban for we who are dead to come to life, just as the cow purified Musa'a people and the koranic tale relates how it could give life to the dead,and Nabi Ibrahim's son was redeemed from death by the mercy of Allah sending a substitute to die in his place.
So Allah has given us Sayyidna Al-Masih to be our great Korban,to make us clean and right before Allah if we trust in Allah's great gift.
