Do they know its xmas time in Kosovo?
HI there, did you have a nice xmas? at home with family and friends? enjoying your xmas punch or bevvie of some sort. sing a little song, recieve some lovelly yet entirly usless pressies? did you then sit there watching the queen with the smell of crimbo dinner filling every pour in your body. your warm, comfy and happy. you turn over and the news comes on, awwww, the sigh of all those poor souls stuck in that terrible country Iraq. Away from friends and family in this time of joy and love and "Peace on Earth"? its such a hard life for soldiers In Iraq. Iraq is so horrible for them at crimbo. Iraq Iraq I-bloomin-raq. well next time you see it, (probably in the next 5mins) try and force yourself out of that media induced Coma. and consider what the rest of the British Army (especially THEE Royal Corps) are doing this time of year. Are we at home? er No. are we enjoying family and friends, er No. Are we getting together at that special time of year sharing pressies watching the queen and feeling all romantic and proud with loved ones and children. er NO. we too are stuck out in Random-istan either freezing or sweating off our personal bits. In real danger (or why would we be here?). Noted it may not be as much danger as those in Iraq, but that is only because we are not fortunate enough (HAHAHA) to work along side those Gun Toting, Power Crazy, Blatently Blind, Friendly firing, Chicken Oriental SPAMS! (the US Army) an institution in that "Special Kind Of Stupid" that only they seem to enjoy. Now, if you would like to take that afore mentioned time, to think about the rest of us, then please do. especially for those of us not special enough to make the news (basically if your not in Iraq) even thoughs of us that have already been to Iraq, and those so old and bold to have been in Iraq 1. With that thought firmly in mind, how many welfare parcels did we get from caring civilians, the people that we, the cream of the the UK are protecting the interests of abroad. How many xmas cards saying "thanks for all your good work" how many Penpals (female mainly) are activly seeking out a squaddie to write to in anywhere else in the world? apart from that wonderfully hellish place (Iraq at Christmas). Im not bitter! (Much) just one of many feeling truely unappreciated far from home at this special time so please, leave a message or make the effort to show some care for those of us not fortunate enough to be in Iraq. Thank You
