The Internet can truly change your life! However, nobody said whether or not it was for better or worse! It is true only about 5 percent of the internet small businesses ever make any real money. Would you like to know the main thing that will give you the best chance to be in that 5 percentile?

Haven't got one?...JOIN THE CLUB!! Figuring out how to get a list and how to bring that list home so that people in that list will buy from you, is the biggest problem AND the biggest need for the small business person on the internet.
SPAM IS NOT AN OPTION!
With a lot of web marketers today even OPT-IN SAFE LISTS are NOT an OPTION because of the SPAM problem. Even if it isn't SPAM, all someone has to do is complain that it is and, guess what, IT IS. Unless, of course, you can prove that you got their information directly from a source that shows they said you could have it. A direct request for information from that person through a genuine means that you can support with evidence is the only way to be sure you can not be found guilty of spamming.

What is someone to do when Family and friends have either said NO they don't want your e-mails or your Family and friends are not computer people, or you have no family or friends, or...and the list goes on...unfortunately it's the WRONG LIST!
ADVERTISE
Advertising is the first word that comes to mind. If you have all the money in the world, you would not be trying to become a small business person on the internet in the first place, so we will discount that one and assume you can afford to spend nothing or very little on advertising. Is there FREE ADVERTISING on the internet? Oh my yes, there is LOTS of it. But some of it makes it downright, and bare faced ridiculous to think you can ever get any actual response links out of your efforts there. There are some other sites that look promising, and some are, IF you go from what they offer for free, to what they will charge you for. Some of these at the pay levels are fair and will bring a few positive results. However, experienced individuals on the internet all say that it is necessary to "keep contacting" interested parties. They tell us that the average purchase is made from about the 5th follow up email on a given subject. Then, if they do join you or like what they see and buy from you, they need constant follow-up contact to become true return customers. This brings up the need for more advertising and one other thing...a way to respond without having to sit at your computer 24/7 waiting for each and every contact so you can get back to them...Just thinking about that and I want to quit!! UGG!!
WHAT TO DO
So where are the bright spots in this diatribe! The FIRST REALLY FINE BRIGHT SPOT is found HERE, where I created this website, at webspawner.com. Here you can set up a free webpage quickly. Setting up the page and getting people to read what you have to say and then offering them some really great software and or ebooks simply for the cost of their e-mail address is the first step. It gives you the chance to add them into YOUR LIST! Then comes another truly important question...HOW DO YOU GET THEM HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE? Well that leads me to the next piece of information in this puzzle. The two things you need to BEGIN AT THE BEGINNING are now available at only one place that I know of and THEY ARE FREE AT THIS TIME! ViralListBuilder.com INCLUDES an Autoresponder (more about that in a minute) and, at this time it is completely free. The owner, Gary Huynh, has several very interesting and seriously innovative items he has started that particularly benefit the beginning small business internet entrepreneur. This particular site is the first I have seen that gives you a way to create a list without having to accept hundreds of "junk" emails from other list members just because you need to place your own advertising somewhere. Also this method virtually eliminates any successful accusations of SPAMMING. Visit the site and see if you do not agree with me that these things are true. Through the use of the AUTORESPONDER, which you also get for free at signup with Viral List Builder, you get all the advantages of advertising and little or none of the drawbacks. Remember that suggestion of sitting at your computer 24/7 watching for contacts to come in. Well with the Autoresponder you don't have to do that. You simply put in your e-mail templates into the responder, set it up with the time frames etc. that you want and it takes care of your responses seamlessly. There are a few limits to the "free" version of the Autoresponder, however even the free version is excellent compared to some I've seen that cost a lot of money! Once you get your viral list on it's way to being built and you have some solid leads that are yours and yours alone, then you will begin to find out whether or not your small business ideas are viable. Even if it turns out they are not as good as you hoped...that LIST...that all important LIST is STILL yours! Revamp what you are doing and take YOUR LIST where ever you go on the World Wide Web!
