B-GIRL KITKAT - DAT ILL CHYNA DOLL!!!

B-GIRL KITKAT, aka Catherine Ouellette, had her first stage performance at the tender age of 10. Born in Montreal, Canada, she continues to perform in over 30 talent shows in the city as hip-hop, jazz, tap, break, and step dancer. On the exception of jazz and tap dance learnt in establishments by various teachers, all the street-dance styles she had in her was thought by imitation of music videos and by friends in their living room , clubs , and the streets. She had seen the documentary "Everybody Dance Now!" on PBS in 1994, and decided to pursue dance as a career. Her influences back then was Paula Abdul, Rosie Perez, The Elite Force (Mariah Carey’s dancers), Janet Jackson, Micheal Jackson, Madonna, Mister Wiggles and Crazy Legs from Rock Steady Crew.

Traveling back and forth to New York City for 4 years, at 18, she finally decided to move to the Big Apple, for the road to her dreams. Starving artists, she had paid her dues in Time Square as a street-performer (break-dancing) and by teaching at various establishments while holding a 9 to 5 job. During that time she would enter contests and battle against other break-dancers at parties which polishes her freestyle.

One day, before teaching her class, a young man approached her, asking KitKat if she would be interested in a try-out dancing for a singer which he choreographed for. He said he had heard about KitKat from a friend of his and would like to work with her. It didn’t worked out as smoothly because KitKat is more of a freestyler and wasn’t use to picking up somebody else’s style. Though, the idea of actually dancing for artists felt more realistic so she pursued it in dept. Soon, after a few dance classes, she got a call for an audition for rapper, Foxy Brown. KitKat got picked for her first tour thanks to her outstanding freestyle and her accuracy in picking up the routines.

Ever since, miss b-girl would be constantly working in music videos for such artist like Will Smith, Q-Tip, Terror Squad (Big Pun, Fat Joe)-- which she co-choreographed, U-God (Wu-Tang Clan), Strings and Drag-On (Ruff Ryders), Grand Master Flash, etc..etc. Have her dance in commercials for FILA sportswear germany with Rock Steady Crew, the "Time of Your Life" pilot with actrice Jennifer Love Hewitt on FOX-TV, and Mountain Dew with Busta Rhymes.

KitKat has been interviewed on BET’s "RapCity" and on Canadian show "Busy Bodies" as a break-dancer. She has also appeared for two months straight on MTV’s "Jams Countdown" as a dancer and had her choreography shown on "Showtime at the Apollo" (NBC/UPN) with Warner Bros. R&B singer, Ivon.

KitKat had recognition as one of the very few active female break-dancers in america that can also pick-up & choreograph other styles and do backup dancing for recording artists. She’s been seen in magazine articles from Canada, France, USA and Japan.

Presently she is in the studio working on her album as SYNdarella.

Young, ambitious, and hard-working, KitKat knows her future will bring her more power and success without a doubt. Watch her grow and you’ll see !
