History of the Players Kings and Queens MC of Southern CT.

The club was charted in April of 1998, by then president Lloyd E. Grant known as Mocking Bird in Stamford, CT. In that same year in the month of September, John Andrade (Jazzy), Michael Palmer (Big Daddy) and Limon Wilkes (Candy Man) became the other founding members of the Players Kings and Queens of Southern CT.

First Officers of the Players Kings and Queens of Southern CT. were, President Lloyd “Mocking Bird” Grant; Vice President Michael “Big Daddy” Palmer, Business Manager John “Jazzy” Andrade and member Limon “Candy Man” Wilkes.

Meetings were held the 2nd Sunday of the month at the New Era Lodge located in Bridgeport, CT. Later meetings were held at member’s homes until 2003 when the membership started growing. Our first annual Trophy party was held in September 1998 at the New Era Lodge. The following year, we went to our first New York calendar meeting and started holding our annual Trophy Parties in April near our anniversary date.

First non-founding member was Michael “Fat Head” Sharpe in February 1999.

First female and non-riding member was Shelley “BAP” Andrade in 1999 and soon after became our first Secretary.

First Treasurer was Napoleon “Ice Man” Jenkins

In the 1998 until early 2000’s, we rode and partied in New York and New Jersey, because of our close affiliation with our New York, Mount Vernon Mother Chapter. Also, thought the leadership of Mockingbird, took weekend trips to Maryland to participate in their Trophy Parties. In 2003 we became affiliated with the United Motorcycle Club of Connecticut (UMCOC). This is an organization started by “Star” of the Soul Seekers and “Jazzy” of the Players Kings and Queens of Southern CT. to have a calendar of events similar to New York and New Jersey. That is when we started partying in Connecticut.

Some of our annual rides were (May) Black Bike Week in Myrtle Beach, S.C.; (June) Americade in Lake George, N.Y.; (July) Buffalo Soldiers Party in PA; (August) National Round-up; and (September) Labor Day in Virginia Beach, VA.

Our first President Lloyd “Mocking Bird” Grant passed on August 22, 2002. On a rainy Thursday morning a precession of the Players Kings and Queens of Southern CT. on their motorcycles rode from Stamford, CT to Long Island, New York to lay our Brother to rest.
