About Community Daycare and Preschool
Community Daycare and Preschool is the center that I work at, and have worked at for 3 years and 6 months. For the most part, I have worked with the school agers. There was only a period of about five months that I worked with the 2 year olds. Boy I tell you, I will never go back! As much as I love little kids, changing diapers, potty training, and wiping noses is definitely not my thing.
Community has 9 children's rooms.
1) Non Mobile Infants
2) Mobile Infants
3) Toddlers, 12-24 months
4) Two Year olds
5) Three year olds
6) Four year olds
7) Five year olds/Preschool
8) Preschool in the day, school age care bf/after
9) Even Start Program, afterschool care bf/after
My room is room 9. During the summer, it is just the school age summer program. I am the teacher in this room, and I have a co-worker who helps and two volunteers. We also have two autistic children and two extra teachers who help out with them. In this room, I have about 34 children enrolled. All of the children enrolled in my class are graduated Kindergarten and 1st graders.
Each day we keep the kids busy! We usually have three recesses, two crafts, one field trip or special activity, a carpet game and a gym game. This adds up to a fun filled yet very active day for the kids! These things that we do are the basis for where I thought of making this web site. I figured that if I started this web site that I could keep track of all of the things that we are doing. I visit so many web sites each day that have excellent ideas and read books that come to the daycare that also have great ideas.
Unfortunately, I only get to spend time working there now between college breaks, when I go back to my hometown in Iowa. But I have full intentions of going back and working as the school age teacher this next summer. It's just so FUN!
Community Daycare and Preschool is a fabulous place to take your children. I wish that I didn't have to leave... *tears* (I'm in MO going to college to become a school teacher). It is definitely a place I would take my children to!
