3-Star Race: Riley Duffy earns 3 stars for setting a school meet record and winning the race overall in an outstanding time of 20:42. Riley started the race in first but the Almont and Fenton runners close behind her soon made bids, each taking over the lead in the early kilometers. However, once Riley was back in the trails she put the hammer down and took charge for the last time. Then in the final kilometer, Riley pulled away even more leaving her opponents behind.

2-Star Race: Katie Pavelich, DesRae Munoz, Ashley Bennett, and Ciara Solis share the 2-star race today. They all ran either personal- or season-best times today to lock up the runner-up trophy for the Hornets. Katie and DesRae also surpassed the former meet record. Of the four, Ciara did a great job by moving up greatly in the 2nd kilometer. She opened with a 4:21 but then countered with a 4:14 to move into the team's No. 5 position. Ashley ran very well in her first outing. Breaking the 23:00 mark in 22:48 is an excellent way to start a cross country career.

1-Star Race: Jessica Howard picked up a star today by knocking about 3 minutes off her time. She ran her best race ever but also focused more on surging and breaking away from opponents than she has ever done. Nice job, Jessica.

3-Star Race: Shae Batten wins 3 stars for a fantastic performance tonight by being the only varsity runner to improve her time from last week. She knocked off 9 seconds from her previous time and is making strides to get even better. Great race, Shae.

2-Star Race: LaTrece Robinson earns 2 stars for a major improvement from her last race, knocking off 1:05 from her first race. LaTrece even won a medal in her race tonight! Go LaTrece.

1-Star Race: Katie Pavelich earns 1 star for a gritty performance in the heat when she was not feeling well. She finished the race flushed white in color, which means she needed water (everyone remember to drink plenty of water), but she ran strongly only 3 seconds off her time from last week. Nice job, Katie.

3-Star Race: Riley Duffy wins the first 3-star race for her spectacular performance today against some of the Flint area's top 10 runners. Riley's time placed 3rd overall and was the freshman champion! She also set a school meet record, surpassing Katie Pavelich's record set last year in 21:49. Riley ran 21:32. Congratulations, Riley!

2-Star Race: Cat Roda earns two stars for a gritty performance. She started slowly at the 1K as our team's No. 8 runners in 4:44, but Cat felts the pace was too slow for her and ran a 4:21 during her 2nd kilometer. She eventually settled down, finishing off the team's scoring as the No. 5 runner. Nice job, Cat.

1-Star Race: Bree Richmond took her scrimmage time from last week, chewed it up, and spit it out. She knocked off about 3 minutes from her time and finished her first 5K running better than I would have imagined possible. Great work, Bree.
