INTRODUCTION:

Hello: My name is Kathy and I am available to help you. My fees are modest (based on ability to pay) simply because help is deserved by everyone regardless if they have a lot of money. I have lived in that situation in the past and I know what it feels like to feel helpless and desperate with no means to pay for counseling or professional help. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and a Certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in the state of New York and I have a background in mental health and substance abuse. I am also in recovery from alcoholism, codependency and have 20 years sober. My area of expertise is addiction and treating people with a possible concurrent mental health problem as well as childhood abuse. I believe that childhood trauma lies at the root of many of the "stigmatizing mental health diagnoses", and yet these issues are rarely treated appropriately and much of the time not even assessed.
