This fine sample of cannabis (otherwise known as weed, grass, marijuana etc) was obtained from the city of Kuching. Kuching is in Sarawak, a state of Malaysia. It comes in the obligatory cigarette pack (Jesus, it's such a common method of concealment it ought to be illegal) with a single cigarette inside for your spinning pleasure. Word of the day: Spin - mixing tobacco with cannabis.
I must applaud the skills of the distributors - the sample above allegedly contains 10 grams of hydroponics produce pressed into a cube about the size of a 50 cent Malaysian coin (with packaging intact). The miniaturization industry could learn a lot about compression techniques from drug scene. ;)
Anyway, I weighted this thing because I was appalled by the small size of the package...it weighs 10.3 grams (with cellophane and heavy tape included, close enough for drug dealers). It costs RM 50 on the streets. I will not comment on the potency of the common availability strains of cannabis in Malaysia - it has low THC levels by most of the world's standards.
I'm not saying that there isn't any high potency cultivated strains like Durban Poison, White Widow, Purple Haze etc but that's just for enthusiast horticulturists for their one consumption. The commercial weed on the streets here is very average - Australia has much better offerings. However any weed is good weed and weed is better than no weed. :)

I know one thing, TUM is 100% wrong, and that weed probably ain't 100% sativa. TUM is wrong because many of the world's fine sativas come from Asia, thus, if cannabis growers are growing sativas, especially those that have been grown in the region for thousands of years, it should be a REALLY good smoke. More likely, the cannabis was grown by Triad/mafia types who don't know dick about farming, and probably used the first seeds they came across in Holland. Despite reports, cannabis quality has gone down significantly across the world due to drug prohibition; and/or bad farming practices that attempt to create "super plants" through genetic cross-breeding of sativas and indicas. The result is a cannabis that tastes bad, often hermies, and is not suitable to grow in ANY region of the world. Bummer!

Weed is generally cheaper in most Asian countries thanks to countries such as Thailand and Malaysia. The only downside is that THC levels are indeed lower compared to those found in other continents such as Australia, Europe and America. Reason being, the weather in Asia is usually unsuited for growing weed. In turn, most suppliers get their "stuff" either laced or "added" to enhance the effects.
I myself am a daily user of cannabis, both in Australia and Malaysia and I just want to say, why bother complaining about the price of weed in Malaysia?
Its dirt cheap and as long as you keep on smoking, the mellow high won't drop off so easily.
Its $15 Aussie dollars(RM40++) for a gram of decent shit whereas its RM50 for a cube back in Malaysia. (1 cube being 7 grams)

man.ur dealer screwed u over..i mean i dont really know how it is over in east msia..maybe the markup is like a hell of a lot more..but that shit probably costs like rm20 back here in kl..maybe less..the situation was kinda crappy for a bit like during the past month right before the elections and the execution of drug dealers in thailand and wat not.. but its back to normal now..and stoners all over malaysia are a hell of a lot happier :)

Yea, M'sia's weed are super shitty ditch weed. And if anyone think that's cheap, you could get a block the size of that cigarette box for RM100 in Koh Samui (seen The Beach?). Same shitty quality though.
