Kalinangan Dance Troupe - The New Generation
The Kalinangan Dance Troupe is a group of young Filipino Canadians dedicated to the preservation of Philippine culture and traditions through music, song and dance.
The Kalinangan Dance Troupe has grown as an ambassador of Filipino culture, sharing Filipino folklore and culture with different communities.
The Kalinangan Dance Troupe's repertoires were made like a tapestry! The formation of the new generation in September 2003 has captivated audiences with entertaining repertoires of Philippine dances. It constitutes an integrated choreography of Lee Sanga, Albert Gutierrez and Mimi Noche-Tamayo.
With the new generation of Kalinangan Dance Troupe, a standard of excellence is the "norm," there is no room for error on stage, so a winning spirit is planted, nurtured and cultivated through hard work and tough discipline.
Kalinangan Dance Troupe's curriculum is to produce a dancer who will artistically meet the challenge of, and succeed in any professional company. To this end, each member is treated as an individual who will be nurtured and encouraged to grow at his or her own pace.
Character building is of extreme importance as the repertoires itself thus; members are molded to project first-class attitude and behavior frontstage and backstage. They are taught that beauty comes from within.
Kalinangan Dance Troupe's performers age ranges from 10 years old and above. The new generation of Kalinangan Dance Troupe is under the care and supervision of the Board of Trustees including our very own Artistic Director and Choreographer, Mimi Noche-Tamayo.
