JOSEF MELICHAR
Josef Melichar is my favorite hockey player. I will tell you all some things about him:
Josef Melichar is a nice person, knowing that he sent back to me a letter and an autograph and wrote something else to me - makes my life great! lol. But seriously it does make me feel good! Hehe:). And I am really thankful for such a great player on the Pittsburgh Penguins!
Josef Melichar also does a good job at his sport - hockey. Although, he has not gotten his first NHL goal yet - when I see him there - I'll be smiling - and watching his goal again!!!!

Defenseman Josef Melichar did not practice Sunday, less than 24 hours after injuring his left shoulder in the Penguins’ 6-0 victory over the New York Rangers.
Melichar, his arm in a sling, said he would not have an MRI done until today because of swelling. He was hurt when he collided with defenseman Brian Leetch in the first period and did not return.
The team called the injury a bruised shoulder, but Melichar said right now it’s tough to tell if the shoulder is actually dislocated. Last year, he dislocated the same shoulder and missed 15 games in March and the final six games of the 2001-02 season after he re-injured it.
“The first time it happened, it was far worse than it is now,” he said. “I don’t even have to use the pain pills or anything. It doesn’t feel great, but it’s a lot less painful than it was before. I can move it a little bit, so, hopefully, the swelling goes down in a couple days, and I can start working out on it. We’ll see what the doctors say.”
It looked doubtful that the Penguins would call anyone up from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to replace Melichar in the lineup for tonight’s rematch against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Both Janne Laukkanen and Hans Jonsson were healthy scratches in Saturday’s game.
