Brief History:
Saint Lucia is a small island in the Caribbean, part of the Windward Islands. It is by St.Marten According to some history, the Arawak Indians were the first to inhabit his island, how ever; they were conquered when Columbus discovered it sometime by the year 1499. It was contested by the French n the British for 150 years. Finally after a few u years, it ceded to the UK in 1814. St. Lucia remained an agricultural island, dedicated to producing tropical commodity crops even after slavery stopped in 1834. They go their independence on February 22, 1979.

Mammals do exist in St. Lucia. However, reptiles also exist in St. Lucia such as small species of snakes, other than birds, bats take over the night in the forests of St. Lucia
The natural hazards of this island are volcanoes and hurricanes. Caribbean Sea, at 0 m, is the lowest point in the island. Mount Gimie at 950m is the highest point.
