ROMEOS AND JULIETS

J. Orozco

Okay, you are here for one of several reasons: (1) you are a girl
who wants to read words she so desperately dreams of one day
hearing come from the lips of her so-called boyfriend; (2) a guy
who's too dull to come up with something better than the typical
"roses are red" stuff; (3) a guy who's just had a relationship
problem that just may be solved with a few passionate words.
Whatever your case may be, feel free to read and use the
following poems. I will not bother with copyright infringement
laws, because I know that every last one of you plagiarizing
bastards will reproduce my material anyway. So enjoy these
verses, and if your partner slaps you for dedicating a poem
they've already seen twice, don't come back crying to me.
Enjoy!!!

Deep Desires

On this quiet, placid night
As I make my way toward sleep
My heart beats to the tune
Of a love so pure and deep,
Beautiful and sweet
Like the music of your voice
Your soft, melodic laughter,
So free and delighting
So smooth and inviting
And as I sit here writing
I think of how exciting
It would be to have you near

If I could have you here
I would steal away your fear,
Protect you from all harm
And fill your heart with cheer
Not a single bitter tear
Would stain your angel face
Your heart so warm and dear
Locked in my strong embrace

Never mind the space
That keeps us far apart
Distance can't erase
This longing in my heart
This yearning in my soul
To share this night with you
To hear your every dream
To make them all come true

A Carefree Night

The warm caress of sunlight
Has lost its gentle touch
Now comes a frigid midnight
Its comfort is not much

But don't you fear
For I'll be here
Ready to grasp
And hold you near

So when you're finished reading
Rest your head back and lay still
Close those gorgeous eyes
And loosen up until
Until you feel your body slipping
Smoothly into sleep
The angels will await you
And take you with them deep,
Deep into a world
Of kings and fantastic castles
A world without tears,
Fears or bothersome hassles

But if sleep does not come
Just pretend that I am there
With my cheek against your cheek,
My hands inside your hair
No, I have not forgotten
That your gorgeous hair is mine
I adore your precious hair
But your whole body is fine
But getting back to the story
Of me and you together
I'd hold you in my arms
Till everything gets better
I would whisper in your ear
Words of pure affection
They would sooth and make you think
Of honey and confection

But for now I can not be there
To make these things come true
But do not let this matter
Soon I'll be right next to you
For now you must rest
And things will be all right
Dream of what you wish
Have a pleasant, carefree night

Gone But Not Forgotten

Hey there, bartender
A pleasant night to you
Never mind the amenities
Go straight to what you do
I've got this serious ailment
So bring a drink or two
An orange and some vodka
Would kill the pain just right

Fill up every glass
The beer's on me tonight

It started in my head
But it slowly reached my heart
At first I beared the illness
But now it's tearing me apart
Yes, I've seen a doctor,
His pills, needles and potions
But medicines like those
Can't fix a guy's emotions
Somewhere in my thoughts
Her voice is always with me
I've tried to let her go
But her presence feels so near me
The sweetness of her lips
Pressed gently on my own
The thought of her departing
Is enough to make me groan
Her beautiful laughter,
Soft, angelic laughter
Coming down to me from Heaven
Making all my dread not matter

But for now the pain will vanish
For drunken I shall be
My heart is filled with anguish
But I'll recover
Wait and see
Don't mind my crying
Even men shed painful tears
In them I forget
My overriding fears
But maybe through the years
I'll find a love that's new
And if my baby hears
She'll know I love her too

Will You Be Mine?

Some may say that love
Can't happen at first sight
But what others think
May not always be right
Please read what I've written
These words come from my heart
So many things to tell
I don't know where to start

I guess it all began
When I laid eyes on your smile,
A smile whose rousing charm
Held me spellbound for a while
At first I could not see

I did not realize
That your intoxicating looks
Would start to hypnotize

Looking deep into your eyes
I lost all track of time
I quickly searched my brain
For ways to make you mine
But physical attraction
Is not what I adore
Under all that beauty
You have a whole lot more

You stepped into my arms
To begin that magic dance
While swaying back and forth
I knew I had the chance
But the words died on my lips
Your presence was too sweet
You have a gentle touch
Whose warmth no girl can beat
And now there is no dance
And yet I have the chance
To express my deepest thoughts
And fill you with romance
Something deep within you
Shines much brighter than a pearl
Which is why I have to ask
If you would be my girl?

A Love Not Meant to Be

Like you there is no other
To me you're like a brother
Which is why you have to know
That your girl is with another
She's found herself a lover
Who gives 'er honest passion
Who makes her life complete
In ways you can't imagine
But do not be surprised
You've seen the sudden change
I'm sure you've realized
That her attitude is strange
I know it's been a while
Since she's given you a smile
And your number's not the one
She rushes home to dial
When you stop to tell 'er hi
She pretends she didn't hear
And her presence is so cold
Even when you have 'er near

You could and should have
But you did not treat her right
Now all of her affection
Will belong to him tonight
But do not hate that guy
You two weren't meant to be
Do not hate that guy
Because that guy is me
