Hi, I am Johan de Beer, aged 39 and my hobby is Ultramarathon road running.

I am married to Belinda and we have two daughters, named Amanda, 18 years and Elaine aged 17.

Oh yes, we also have a Rottweiler named Amy.

I am currently preparing for the Comrades Ultra Marathon on 16th June '00 and it is to be run between Durban and Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.

I have already completed 7 runs with 6 bronze and 1 silver medal.

I have been running marathons for 10 years now and my personal bests for the Standard and Ultramarathon over 42,2km, and 50 km is 2:45:24 and 3:30:47, respectively.

Preparation for this 90km race requires running a lot of mileage during the build-up, so I guess I'd better be off now!
