Joey is a Modern Western Square Dance Caller. He is originally from the small town of Saluda, SC, but now lives in the "village" of Baskin, in northeast Louisiana. He is married to Beverley. They have one daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Patrick Miller, and two granddaughters, Helen Amanda (Mandy, 11) and Abigail Lynn (Abby, 5).
Joey has been dancing since September, 1980. He started calling in February, 1981, two weeks after graduation. Although he was the first one in his family to square dance, they are now pretty much a square dance family. His sister, Tracey Ferrell, has been dancing since 1983. Her daughter, April Canada, has been dancing since 1994. Joey's sister and brother-in-law, Bob and Debby Krans (Houston area), have been dancing since September 2001. His parents, Ron and Peggy Duhamel, have been dancing since 1994.
Joey calls in the Monroe and Shreveport areas, as well as extensively all across Texas and Louisiana. Joey also calls periodically in Mississippi, Arkansas, South Carolina, and Georgia.

JUST FRIENDS SQUARE DANCE CLUB, every Monday night, 7:00 - 9:00 PM, West Ouachita Senior Center, N. 7th St., W. Monroe, LA.
SOUTHERN SWINGERS, Every Tuesday, 7:00 - 9:30 PM, Promenade Hall, Hwy. 3 North, Benton Rd., Bossier City, LA. Bill Buck cues rounds between tips.
CANEY LAKE SWINGERS, Every Thursday, 6:45 - 9:00 PM, McDonald Recreation Center, Jeffress St., Jonesboro, LA. Frances Stinson cues rounds between tips.
Joey is also still listed as the club caller for the LAKESIDE TWIRLERS in Many, LA, who danced on 2 and 4 Thursday. This club has been inactive since 2002, but hope to dance again one day soon.
Joey also enjoys singing, and sings at many nursing homes and retirement centers in his home area, as well as other areas (volunteer basis). He does a wide variety of music, from country, to '50's, '60's, and '70's, to Elvis, to Gospel. He is available for after-parties.
