The Word of God -
The Bible is not one book, but a collection of 66 books. It was composed over many centuries, by 40 different authors from all walks of life with varying educational backgrounds. In spite of all this, all of the Bible lines up from Genesis to Revelations, even though it was written over a long period by many people, some unknown to each other. This was due to the fact that the Supreme Author was God, who guided and inspired the human authors.

The Old Testament, made up of 39 books, was written in Hebrew.

The New Testament made up of 26 books was written in Greek, with the exception of Hebrews, which was initially written in Hebrew and then later translated into Greek.
There are many versions of the Bible in English on the market today.
In my personal studies I prefer to use The King James Bible.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God.
2Timothy 3: 16 - 17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrinal, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness... That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

THE POWER OF THE LIVING WORD
The Word of God is full of living power, making it operative, active, energizing and effective. It never grows old, never weakens, never changes, never loses its power. It is life giving, sustaining and up lifting, and it has defeated satan.
Hebrews 4: 12
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

GOD SPEAKS THROUGH HIS WORD
The word is God speaking to you and me.
Thus saith the Lord is repeated over and over in the Word of God. The Word is alive and it speaks to us. Jesus is the Word. The Word (otherwise known as the Scriptures or the Bible )is a living thing in the lips of a believer, for as we speak it out, it comes alive.

God and His Word are one.
John1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

It does not say Jesus is the Word, but it says GOD was the WORD. Also in John .1:14 it says ''and the Word became flesh "so God became flesh.
John .1:14
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

1Timothy.3:16
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifested in the flesh,
Justified in the Spirit,
Seen by angels,
Preached among the Gentiles,
Believed on in the world,
Received up in glory.

The universe was formed by God's spoken Word
Hebrews 11:3
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

His Word is health and medicine to all our flesh
Healing in the word
psalm 107: 20
He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their Instructions.

Proverbs.4:20 My son, give attention to my words;
Incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your eyes;
Keep them in the midst of your heart;
22 For they are life to those who find them,
And health (Heb.and medicine)to all their flesh.
23 Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it spring the issues of life.
24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth,
And put perverse lips far from you.
Matthew 8:16
When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: 17That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

Isaiah 53:3-12
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
1Petre 2:24
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

We need to act on the word (by doing what it says closed bracket

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

we need to see the word ( by meditating on the word.)

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

we need to say the word (by confessing what it says.)
Mark 11:22
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

the word convict of sin and righteousness
John 16: 7 - 10

Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8"And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9"of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10"of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11"of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
this conviction can come from no other source than the word it is a threefold conviction

1John 3:10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.

Salvation through the word
Romans.10:8But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Born again through the Word
James 1:18
Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
John 3:3.
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. 9Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? 10Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? 11Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. 12If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
1Peter1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
The Word impart to us eternal life

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

word of God shall not pass a way

Matthew 24: 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away

(A)The word is salvation to my Spirit,
(B)healing to my body,
(C) and renews my mind

make A Quality Decision.
We need to make a quality decision to read the Word.( the Bible) daily.
Find the most convenient time, and endeavour on a regular basis to read the word, commences in with a small passage and gradually increasing it as you grow in God. It is better to meditating on a small passage and gain real insights into it, with the help of the Holy spirit then to read many chapters and not have any understanding of what you've read.

Beginners usually commence with the Epistles of John 1, 2 and 3 as well as the gospel of John try to read one in chapter of psalms and/ - or one chapter of Proverbs daily. There are 31 chapters of proverbs in the Bible, which allows you to read one chapter daily over the period of one month.

Just as we need a manuel for a new car that we purchased we also need to have, The Bible is the manual for this life and eternity we must read God's promises and act upon them and walk in them the word is alive when we speak God words out of our mouth
