The Holy Spirit
STUDIES ON THE TRUTH OF GOD'S WORD
Many people today are baptised in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues and have signs and wonders, healing and miracles in their lives.

Unfortunately some churches do not accept the baptism in the Holy Ghost ,and speak against it. Teaching that it is not of God, and not for today, and that the baptism in the Holy Ghost was only for the 12 disciples of Jesus to start the Church. They also say that when the last disciple died the miracles stopped, and there were no more miracles. Their teaching is not biblical.

It is the same baptism that the disciples had received on the day of Pentecost.

The devil would have us remain in darkness concerning this subject.

What does the Bible says about it all, and what does Jesus say ?.

The prophecies of the old testament
Lets start with the prophet Joel in the book of
Joel. 2: 28 - 29 and it shall come to pass afterward,
that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh,;
and your sons and your daughter's shall prophesy,
your old men shall dream dreams, you're young men
shall see visions:

29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my Spirit

(thought)
Key word= afterward
key words= all flesh
Key word=Prophesy
the prophet Joel's prophesy

The key words in this prophecy, 1(afterwords)
2 (All flesh) and
3(prophecy) are very important =what does the prophet mean when he says these words 1(afterward) 2 (All flesh )
3 (prophecy)
and it shall come to pass afterward

The fulfilment of the prophecy of Joel
Peter in acts 2:14. Peter in quoting Joel's prophecy used almost the same words, but changed the words "(afterward) to (in the last days). The Word of God tells me that the last days started with the apostles on the day of Pentecost and will finish at the end of the Church age.

After the disciples were baptised in the Holy Ghost in the upper room ~ they were filled with the Holy Ghost and with power.

Peter preached and 3,000 people that came to the Lord , and many people were healed delivered and set free with the power of the Holy Ghost. Before this time the power of God did not flow through them . If the apostles needed the Holy Ghost to flow through them with power to heal, set free and deliver, how much more do we today need the same power to flow through us.

Acts 2: 14
But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said to them, Ye men of Judaea and all that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

15 for these are not drunken as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

16 but this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; (Peter is quoting the prophet Joel)

17 "and it shall come to pass in the last days saith God I will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh "

(Again Peter is referring to Joel's prophecy, and says that God will pour out of His Spirit upon all flesh. This does not refer just to the 12 disciples for He said He will pour out of His Spirit upon all flesh and all flesh includes this generation from the generation after Jesus's resurrection to the last generation on earth.

You cannot make anything else out of that scripture, this refers to all generations.
"And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams: and on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my spirit; and they shall prophesy "

(thoughts) if we look at the prophecy in the book of Joel 2: 28 after Jesus rose from the dead he spent 40 days with His disciple before He ascended into heaven.

The ascension of Jesus Christ
We need the power to do the works of Jesus on this earth today
acts 1: 4 "And, being assembled together with them, (Jesus) commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father which, saith He, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptised with water; but ye shall be baptised with the Holy Ghost not many days hence" Promise of the Holy Spirit and power to all believers.

Mark 16: 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe;(if you are a believer this includes you ) in my name) (in Jesus name ) shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 they shall take up serpents; And if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they` shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right-hand of God

20 and they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

The promises

MT.3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Mark1:8
I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

MARK.16:17-18 Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

19So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

LUKE.3:16
John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

LUKE11:9-13And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
10For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

1If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

12Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

there is so much in this vers
1If a son shall ask bread (Staff of life, Christ our food ) of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone?

or if he ask a fish,( souls of man,)will he for a fish give him a serpent? (satan1)2Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? ( a scourge, a whip, that which stings, brings pain, usually Satanic)

13If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? ( This verse is a saying if you ask the father for the Holy spirit is he going to give you something of satan or is he going to give you the Holy spirit

God is going to give you the Holy spirit
vers 13if you ask you will receive

LUKE.24:49
And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high

JOHN.14:9-17
Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

10Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

11Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

15If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

18I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

19Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

20At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. 21He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him

ACT.1:4-9
The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

2Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
3To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

4And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

5For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

6When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

7And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

9And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

ACT4:13And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. 14These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

15And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
