· Jesus great High Priest
(Heb 4:14 KJV) Seeing then that we have a great high priest that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.Three orders of Priests
FIRST------Melchisedec
SECOND--Aaron
THIRD-----Jesus great High PRIESTA). Melchisedec was a Priest
B). Aaron was a High Priest
C). Jesus was the great High Priest· Jesus was not born priest
(A) Jesus was born king
(B) And he was a prophet
He was a King and a prophet (not a priest).· King
(Mat 2:2 KJV) Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
· Jesus claimed to be a Prophet
(B) 57 and they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and in his own house.
Jesus said He was a prophet.
PRIEST
When did Jesus become priest?
He was not born a priest.
He was not born under the lineage of Aaron .
He was born from the lineage of Judah, not a priestly line, but a line of Kings.
Jesus was a priest at his own sacrifice when he died for the whole human race.
(1) How did Jesus become a Great High Priest?
(2) And when did Jesus become Great High Priest?
(3) What happened, and how did Caiaphas lose His position as High Priest?
(A) The order of Melchisedec(Heb 5:6 KJV) As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec.
Who was Melchisedec?
HEB 7:1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;Melchisedec was a priest of the most high God.
No beginning or end.
Melchisedec was not a priest of the Jews.
Aaron was the priest of the Jews.
Jesus is the priest of all nations.
Thought…
The Bible is talking about Jesus, and that Jesus is HIGH Priest after the order of Melchisedec.(Heb 5:10 KJV) Called of God a high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
(Heb 6:20 KJV) Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made a high priest forever after the order of Melchisedec.
(Heb7:1 KJV) For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
Thought
Melchisedec was king of Salem; (Salem’s name changed to Jerusalem).Melchisedec was priest of the most high God.
He also blessed Abram before his name was changed to Abraham.Melchisedec was king of Jerusalem, he was king and priest of the gentiles.
Abraham was not yet a Jew. He was a Syrian until the circumcision, and then he became a Jew.
Aaron the High Priest
God Appointed Aaron High Priest.
(Heb 7:10 KJV) For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him. When Melchisedec blessed Abram Levi was yet in the loins of his father Abram . Levi was the son of JACOB and from Levi’s seed came the tribe of Levites.
(Aaron was Moses’s brother).
After they came out of Egypt, the second office of priesthood was transferred to Aaron ,Moses’ brother, who was one of Levi’s seed. Aaron was appointed by God as High Priest.
The priest’s office was transferred from father to son right through all Aaron’s generations, and from Aaron right through to Zacharias, John the Baptist’s father.
The priest’s office was transferred to Jesus when He, Jesus, was baptized by John the Baptist.
To qualify to the priesthood, one must come from the lineage (family tree )of Aaron.God only appointed Aaron and His descendants to be High Priest and no one else.
John was not called High Priest in man’s eyes but in God’s eyes. He came down from the lineage of Aaron the High Priest. You could not become High Priest unless you came down from the lineage of Aaron.
Caiaphas did not come from the lineage of Aaron. He was appointed by the Roman procurator, Valerius Gratus.
At that point, the lineage of Aaron is finished.Caiaphas did the will of the Roman Empire. As he was not from Aaron’s lineage, therefore in God's eyes he was not the High Priest, but yet he still did oversee the sacrifices.
There are no more High Priests appointed by God after Zacharias the father of John the Baptist. He is the last one mentioned in the lineage of Aaron.
Caiaphas and Annas were appointed by men to do the work of High Priest.Washing (or baptizing) to become a Priest
Moses to wash Aaron
God told Moses to wash Aaron (or baptize him) into the priesthood. He also told Moses to tell Aaron to wash his sons when it was time for them to be High Priests.
So the washing (or baptizing) was a part of the ceremony to make them High Priests.
Washing (or baptizing) to become a Priest
Exo 29:1 And this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to minister unto me in the priest's office:
Take one young bullock, and two rams without blemish,2 And unleavened bread, and cakes unleavened tempered with oil, and wafers unleavened anointed with oil: of wheaten flour shalt thou make them.
3 And thou shalt put them into one basket, and bring them in the basket, with the bullock and the two rams.
4 And Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring unto the door of Øthe tabernacle of the congregation, and shalt wash them
Øwith water.5 And thou shalt take the garments, and put upon Aaron the coat, and the robe of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastplate, and gird him with the curious girdle of the ephod:
6 And thou shalt put the mitre upon his head, and put the holy crown upon the mitre.
7 Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and anoint him.
8 And thou shalt bring his sons, and put coats upon them.
9 And thou shalt gird them with girdles, Aaron and his sons, and put the bonnets on them: and the priest's office shall be theirs for a perpetual statute: and thou shalt consecrate Aaron and his sons.
· EX0D 29:1 this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to minister unto me in the priest's office:
EXO 40:12 And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons unto the door of the tabernacle of the
Øcongregation, and wash them with water.13 And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.
Lev 8:1 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,
2 Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, and the anointing oil, and a bullock for the sin offering, and two rams, and a basket of unleavened bread;
3 And gather thou the entire congregation together unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
4 And Moses did as the LORD commanded him; and the assembly was gathered together unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
5 And Moses said unto the congregation, This is the thing, which the LORD commanded to be done.
6 And Moses brought Aaron and his sons,
7 washed them with water.
God told Moses to wash Aaron or baptize him into the priesthood, in front of the congregation.
God told Moses to wash Aaron or to baptize him into the Priesthood. He also told Moses to tell Aaron to wash (baptize) his sons into the priesthood. That ties them into the priesthood.
Checked to this pointBaptize him into the priesthood
Jesus is baptized
(C)John the Baptist, baptize Jesus into the priest hood
Jesus went down to the river Jordan.
John was the cousin of Jesus; he knew Jesus, Who he was and when he saw him he said 'I never knew him'.What was he saying?
John did not know that he was the Son of God, until he baptizes Jesus.
MT1:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
(Heb 5:5 KJV) So also Christ glorified not himself to be made a high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee?
WATTER BAPTISM or WASHING
Jesus went down to the river Jordan we John was that rising
remember Jesus was John’s cousin, as cousin he knew Jesus when he saw him he said I never knew him what he was saying is, he did not know that he was the son of God till he was baptized the was going to be to baptized Jesus said to John to baptized in John said that he couldn't Jesus said to fulfil all righteousness who was the priest of righteousness mower kills it back the by else's the Jesus is in the order of male

Dictation stopped
Abia to Zacharias,
(A)Who was the true HIGH PRIEST before the office of the priesthood came upon Jesus?
(B)(Luke 1:5 KJV) There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the
course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.· Abia. What does that mean?
It is talking about the HIGH priest Abia one of Aaron decadence ,
We see in scriptures that John the Baptists father came from the generation of Abia.
Zacharias was the high priests at the time when John the Baptist was born Luke1:5John the Baptists father came from the generation of Abia.
Abia was one of the High Priests that came from the generation of Aaron. Abia. was the eighth from Aaron, this makes John the Baptist’s father the seed of Aaron and John the Baptists inline to the position of High Priest1 Chr 24: 10 The eighth to Abijah. (Abia).
* Please note that 'Abia' and 'Abijah' is the same person only written different between the Old and the New TestamentZacharias the high priests.
Thoughts..
John the Baptist’s mother and father came from the generation of Aaron, which gives John the Baptist the right to be high priest in GOD EYESJOHN THE BAPTIST’S FATHER AND MOTHER WERE THE LAST GENERATION OF AARON TO BE MENTIONED IN THE GENERATION OF THE HIGH PRIEST FAMILY TREE IN the Bible.
John the Baptist
Zacharias and his wife were descendants of Aaron, therefore John the Baptist grew up knowing the law with all the ceremonies and sacrifices involved in temple life in the Old Testament.
He grows up being taught from a very young age about the things of God
John the Baptist should have been
the next HIGH priest around the time that Jesus ministered,
but Caiaphas was appointed by Rome as HIGH priest in John place.John the Baptist was robed of the priest’s office but in Gods eye he was next in line.
John's father is the last High Priest mentioned in theGENERATION OF THE Aaronic HIGH PRIEST
Every high priest that came after Zacharias John the Baptist’s father was not excepted by God
The priesthood that God appointed had endedwe read that Jesus came to John the Baptist to be baptized.
John was baptizing for the remission of sin; Jesus was without sin and wanted John to baptize Him.
Who was the high priest after John the Baptist’s father?
Caiaphas appointed high priestCaiaphas and Anna’s his father in-law were appointed high priest of Israel
about 18 AD by the Roman procurator, Valerius Gratus.THOU ART MY SON
(Heb 7:11 KJV) If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
(Heb 7:15 KJV) And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest
(Heb 7:17 KJV) For he testifieth, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec.
(Heb 7:21 KJV) (For those priest were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord swear and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)Lineage of Aaron is finished.
Caiaphas
Caiaphas and Anna’s his father in-law were not appointed by God
Caiaphas was High priest at the time of Jesus and John the Baptist’s Ministry. Luke 3:2
God did not appoint Caiaphas as the higher priest, Caiaphas and Anna’s his father in-law were appointed high priest of Israel about 18 AD by the Roman procurator, Valerius Gratus.
In God eyes Caiaphas and Anna’s were not the real high priests. They were puppet high priests who took their orders from Rome.
Caiaphas also was a member of the San- he- drains the Sad-ducees.
The first mention of Caiaphas in Matthew’s gospel
(Mat 26:3 KJV) Then assembled together the chief priest, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas.
(Mat 26:57 KJV) And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
The first mention of Caiaphas and Anna’s that is found is in Luke(Luke 3:2 KJV) Anna’s and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.
(John 11:49 KJV) And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all.
John 11:51 KJV) And this spoke he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;Thought…
That’s the year of the crucifixion of Jesus, Caiaphas prophecies that Jesus had to die one man for all humanity(John 18:13 KJV) And led him away to Anna’s first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year.
Anna’s was not High Priest that year
Caiaphas was high priest that same year(John 18:14 KJV) Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
(John 18:24 KJV) Now Anna’s had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.
At the time of the crucifixion of Jesus, Caiaphas was the high priest and not Anna’s
(John 18:28 KJV) Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the Passover.(Acts 4:6 KJV) And Anna’s the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.
Anna’s the high priest
Please notice that Anna’s is the high priest in the book of Acts because Caiaphas tore his garments in Matt 26:62 and so he disqualified himself of the high priest position.
It is Also important to remember that Caiaphas and Anna’s were not high priests appointed by God at the time of the crucifixion
Rent his clothes
(Ex 28:32 KJV) And there shall be a hole in the top of it, in the midst thereof: it shall have a binding of woven work round about the hole of it, as it was the hole of a habergeon that it is not rent.LEVITICUS 10:6A And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people:
MT26:62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answers thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.
66 What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.
Unto men eyes Caiaphas is no more priest because he tore his clothes.
· It is Also important to remember that Caiaphas and Anna’s were not high priests appointed by God at the time of the crucifixion.
Who was overseeing the sacrifices?
Remember we know Caiaphas ministry is only mentioned when John the Baptist ministry started not before.Jesus ministry also started at His baptism when John the Baptist baptized Jesus in the river Jordan.
At the time Jesus was crucified who was a HIGH priest to take the sacrifices?
Rent
If we recall Mat 26:63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.Do you realize that at this point Jesus could have sinned?
Caiaphas invoked the law of Lev 5: 1 "And if a soul sin, and hear the voice of swearing, and is a witness, whether he hath seen or known of it; if he do not utter it, then he shall bear his iniquity."So far Jesus held his peace until Caiaphas invoked the law. Obviously Jesus knew the law and he did not came to brake the law but to fulfill the law. Furthermore, if in this circumstance Jesus kept silence after the high priest invoked the law Jesus would have sinned and would not be able to die for our sins because he would brake the law. The word of God is so perfect that in details like this we can marvelous that Jesus spoke otherwise he will have to offer the trespass offering.
Caiaphas disqualified
Two reasons Why Caiaphas was disqualify from overseeing the sacrifice of the Pass over lamb?
(1) God did not appoint him. In Gods eyes he was not accepted
(2) Rent (tore) His garment
· Please note that in many Bibles in the Old Testament the word rend is spelled with 'd' in the end and in the New Testament it is ended in 't' but the meaning of the word does not change.
· In the dictionary the word rent means: 'torn, lacerated'.
· In the dictionary the word rend means: 'tear or to cut'.
He rend HIS GARMENT (not accepted by God)
What has tearing his priestly robe got to do with been disqualify? Two laws of God in Leviticus that apply to this teaching
1) one low broken by Caiaphas Leviticus 10:6a
2) The second kept by Jesus Leviticus 5:1Caiaphas broke the law 0f LEVITICUS 10:6A and was disqualified
· LEVITICUS 10:6A And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people:A) Caiaphas was disqualified
voice of swearing
· Leviticus 5:1 And if a soul sin, and hear the voice of swearing, and is a witness, whether he hath seen or known of it; if he do not utter it, then he shall bear his iniquity.B) If Jesus did not answered in Mat 26:63 He would have sinned and not been able to go to the cross for us
· Matthew 26:62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answers thou nothing? What is it, which these witness against thee?63 But Jesus held his peace.
65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? Behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.
What did God say would happen if the High Priest rent his cloths?
· LEVITICUS 10:6 Neither rends your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people:
1) He disqualified himself from the priest hood and brought a curse upon the people
2) wrath will come upon all the peopleNo wonder the Jewish nation suffered so much
The people also cried let His blood be upon our heads and the heads of our children.
God said it and he mined it.At the time of the crucifixion, the Passover lamb was being killed, there was no high priest, because Caiaphas disqualified himself by renting (tore) his priestly garment in front of the scribes and the elders that were assembled.
They new the five book of the law, he just disqualified himself in the eyes of man
And He was not appointed by God to be high priest, to overseeing the sacrifices.God appointed the Aaronic priest hood to sacrifice animals till Jesus came to die on the cross for the whole human race, Jesus was the High priest at His own sacrifice.
God did not intend the Aaronic priesthood to proceed Jesus,
that the reason why Zacharias, John the Baptist father was the last High priest appointed by God
All sacrifices lead to Jesus
and all priestsThe real lamb was Jesus and remembers we know Caiaphas ministry was appointed by Rome and starting just before John the Baptist ministry started
Jesus ministry also started at His baptism when John the Baptist baptizes him in the river Jordan.
At the crucifixion of Jesus who was the HIGH priest to take the sacrifices?
There was no high priest to oversee the Passover of the lamb in the temple, that day and say It is finishedBut on the place called Gol-go-tha or the place of the Skull, the real High priest JESUS the Lamb of God appointed by God was overseeing His own sacrifice.
Jesus was crucified at 9 o'clock
At 12 o'clock there was darkness till 3 o'clock
At 3 o'clock Jesus said it is finished and diedJesus Great High PRIEST overseeing His own sacrifice.
He was the sacrifice. it was Gods own blood that was shed for all humanity
It is finished
Who killed the Passover lamb?
Exodus 29:38 Now this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar two lambs of the first year day by day continually.(A)Two lambs to be sacrificed every day continually
(B)The day of passover once a year three lambs To be sacrificedPassover lamb and say to the levit Was the lamb with out blemish, no bones broken was the blood clean .the levies would answer it was a perfect sacrifice
God told Moses to offer two lambs every day
But on Passover once a year three lambsThe Levite would kill two lambs every day The high priest would come to the place where the lamb was killed, and ask the Levite if the lamb was without blemish, if any bones were broken and was the blood clean .The Levite’s would answer it was a perfect sacrifice.
Then the high priest would stretch out his hands similar to
crucifixion, and then say It is finished, every day morning and evening.sacrifice at 9 o'clock = It is finished
The evening at 3o'clock every day = It is finished
Passover once a year three lambs sacrificed that day.One at 9 o'clock = It is finished
12 o'clock = It is finished
3 o'clock = It is finished
Jesus was crucified at 9 o'clock
At 12 o'clock there was darkness till 3 o'clock
At 3 o'clock Jesus said it is finished and died
Exodus the three lambs.(Heb 10:21 KJV) And having a high priest over the house of God;
