The James Hutson Memorial Show
August 28, 2004
Cahootenanny's in Johnson City
Featuring GOODSPEED and ZOOTS MOJO
In 1997, We all had a friend that was tragically taken from us. His name was James Hutson and was only 17 years old when he was stabbed to death in his home. His mother was assalted in the break-in. To this very day, there still hasn't been an arrest in the case or any substantial leads. One year later, his mother, Mary Hutson passed away due to illness.
The gravesites of James and Mary Hutson remain without headstones.
James was the type of person that just attracted people to him. This explains the large quantity and quality of the friends he left behind. I, personally, don't know of one single person that didn't feel very close to him. He was a one of a kind personality, never to be forgotten. The fact that a friend, so close to us, was lost in such a violent wayis hard enough to deal with. But to not have any closurein the form of an arrest or conviction is just torturous!
As I said before, James and Mary are without headstones. A benefit show on August 28, 2004 has been organized to raise money to purchase headstones for the two graves. CAHOOTENANNY'S has been kind enough to donate their facilities for the cause! And to make the night even more memorible, GOODSPEED and ZOOTS MOJO have signed on to not only play the show, but donate all proceeds to purchase the headstones!
Admission is only $5, but any donations will be greatly appreciated. All proceeds made from the show will go to the James Hutson Memorial Fund.
If your reading this, then i know his life has touched yours. This is a great chance to finally get some closure...as well as pay respects to an amazing friend that would have been partying right along with us! So, Come on down...enjoy yourself...talk with old friends...remember the old times for a night...listen to a couple of ROCKIN' Bands...eat...drink...and let it be a night to remember!!!
Please take the time to write and comment in the message board (below) and guestbook (left). Thanks to ya all!!
