WHEN MY BEST FRIEND CHEERED
I stood alone in the gym after the crowd had gone.
I walked slowly to center court and thought
long and hard about the game.
The errors, missed shots, silly fouls,
and the easy rebounds that fell through my hands.
When out of the blue, he should appear.
The image of the man I thought I had lost.
As he walked closer to me I could see
that same sweet smile.
His presence sent chills down my spine.
For so long I had tried to get over the pain
of losing the man I had always looked up to.
I tried to be brave and hold back the tears
but I had been brave for so long now.
As he put his hand on my shoulder
and looked deeply in my eyes,
I knew I had conquered his will
and there was nothing I could change now.
He promised me he would return, if only in my dreams.
For a love so true as ours is never really lost.
He gave me a hug and kiss on the cheek
and of course the high five, just like always.
He told me he loved me ad he promised he always would.
As he turned to leave all I could do was watch him go.
Then it hit me.
I had lost my chance once
and it has haunted me ever since.
I could not make the same mistake twice.
"Grandpa, Please don't go. I am scared
and I can't do this without you."
He looked once again in my eyes and said,
"My Dear, You have accomplished so much
and I am so proud of you.
My time is over but your life has just begun."
And with those words he was gone, just like that.
Before I left the gym, I turned around at center court
and looked up in the stands.
The gym was silent except for the little noise
made by the wind outside.
And then all at once I realized,
My Best Fan Had Cheered.

MY CRUSH
I knew I loved you,
From the moment I saw you.
Just the way you were standing,
I knew you were the man of my dreams.
To bad you had to left,
You never said goodbye.
To me or anyone,
You just jumped.
Cause no one loved you,
You wrote.
I knew I should,
Have said something.
But what can I say,
I am too shy.
Now it is to late,
You are gone forever,
Because you thought no one loved you.
