Karin Gibby - Calligrapher
Isle of Avalon Calligraphy & Illuminated Art

A little about the artist:

I am Karin Cline Gibby, an Oklahoma City-based, self-taught artist and calligrapher with over 30 years experience. From this page and linked samples site I offer hand-calligraphed designs of poetry, songs, names and their meanings, blessings, scriptures, psalms and prayers, quotations starting at $30.00 per (8.5x11 inch) page to several hundred dollars, depending upon amount of work required for each project.

You may send e-mail to karingibby_calligrapher@hotmail.com (Please type CALLIGRAPHY INQUIRY in the subject section.)

Envelope addressing for wedding, party or other special occasions. The following are basic pricing for my work:

Placecards: $ 2.00 and up per item (plus cost of paper/card stock)

Envelopes: $ 2.00 and up per item for mailers (pre-printed wedding invitation envelopes that get stamped and postmarked)
$ 1.00 per insert, for name of recipient(s) on the presentation envelope (the inside envelope the invitations go into) or for the return address on back flap. (A total of $3.00 per set)

Map cards are also available at a rate of $5.00 per original sheet of cards, and $1.25 per each photocopied sheet of business card size map cards that slip into the invitation envelope. These come in very handy when the church or other site address is not pre-printed onto the invitation and your guests are unfamiliar with the city in which the wedding or reception will be held. These cards are done with a mapping software for accuracy, and not considered "calligraphy".

Menus start at $30.00 each original calligraphed page, then $2.50 per each color copy made by artist.

"One of a kind gifts for that discriminating person on your list."

Celtic, Black Letter, Old English, Script and Decorative lettering styles and embellishments are appropriately selected by the artist for each project.

All work is on a C.O.D. basis (Price of work, plus C.O.D./postage fee).

Note for clarification: While scribes have used authentic parchment and vellum for manuscripts over the centuries, (made from goat and kidskins), for personal animal protection reasons, I never use these materials; although they do last the longest and are the most expensive calligraphy surfaces.
(This statement is not intended to imply anything derrogatory against the producers, users or advocators of parchment or vellum, and I want them to infer nothing akin to an insult, it is simply my personal decision not to use them, and I wanted to make my prospective clients aware of this.) I use Calligrapher's Parchment Paper, when referring to "parchment" in my descriptions.

For the environment's sake, I use recycled materials whenever possible and feasible for each project without compromising quality of the work. All work is done in black Indian Ink, colored inks and watercolors, watercolor pencil, pastels and pencil.

Thank you for visiting, if you have a few moments, please drop by my samples site (link at the bottom of the page) to peruse some of my work, let me know what you think, even if it's just to let me know you stopped by. All comments, questions and suggestions are welcomed and appreciated, and I will personally answer all my messages on a timely basis.

Hope you find something you like...
