IT IS THE FUNDAMENTALIST SECTS OF ISLAM THAT ARE BENT ON WAR AND CONQUEST OF THE "INFIDELS". Most Muslims - "nominal" followers of their religion - are gentle people. It is clear that the zealots or FUNDAMENTALISTS IN ALL RELIGIONS who are the aggressors or potential Terrorists. Even within the "Christian" Church there are those, like Slovadan Milosovic, an "Orthodox" Christian, who was found guilty of Crimes against Humanity. The present (Sept. 2001) WAR is not against Islam but rather FUNDAMENTALISM.
WHEN, WHERE AND WHY DID ISLAM BECOME VIOLENT? In the Western, Democratic world, religion is SEPARATE from the State, however, in Islam, the State IS an integral part of the religion, with the Mullahs (clerics) having a higher authority than those in more secular positions. Believers (in Allah) must give their allegiance primarilly to Allah. This can be a problem for democratic governments when their populations become predominantly Muslim, as in Kashmir. At this site, note that the writer refers to THE ISLAMIC GOVERNMENT. It should be remembered that Islamic fundamentalism has the goal of converting (by force if necessary - under "JIHAD" ) the WHOLE WORLD to Islam so there would be ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT, under "Shariah" law. This would take us back into the "Dark Ages" and, for women, into SLAVERY. Naturally, to achieve that goal will require considerable violence and this is where "JIHAD" will play a major role. FRIGHTENING !!
In the early years of Muhummad's ministry, he was non-violent and preached non-violence. WHY DID HE CHANGE his pacifist message, ordering his followers to take up the sword against the Infidels. Read this and you may be very surprised. There are so many apparent inconsistencies and contradictions in the Qur'an. When you read some parts, the emphasis is on NON-VIOLENCE and, in other parts, Allah appears as a vicious monster, breathing wrath and destruction upon the wicked. I guess that it is somewhat like the Bible. All passages must be read and studied in proper context.
MUHAMMAD DISPUTES WITH THE CLANS, TURNS HIS BACK ON JUDAISM AND BECOMES VIOLENT IN HIS ATTITUDES <<>> In the early years of his ministry, Muhammad was influenced by more peaceful Judaistic concepts, however after much opposition from the Clans around Medina, he turned his back on Jerusalem and emphasised violence more in his preaching. Had Jesus not "Turned his face to go TOWARDS Jerusalem" - and the CROSS - perhaps He could have become a person like Muhammad. Islam is a religion based on hate, violence and TERRORISM and the greatest challenge to Christians is to LOVE MUSLIMS AS JESUS DOES - ENOUGH TO DIE FOR THEM.
THE BATTLE FOR JERUSALEM <<>> It would seem that the way the Palestinian Issue is developing, the climactic Battle will be over JERUSALEM. Both sides are dedicated to preserving their "HOLY" site, supported by their scriptures - The Qur'an and the Bible. The violent, terrorist movements operating around the world in over 60 nations, with one of the main groups being the "AL QAEDA", supported by the leader, Osama bi Laden, have one purpose and that is to REGAIN THE "OCCUPIED" AREA KNOWN AS "PALESTINE", AFTER DRIVING OUT THE JEWS TO DEATH, ALONG WITH THEIR SUPPORTERS, MAINLY THE U.S.A.. This could be a colossal battle with most, if not all, of the free-democratic nations involved in some measure. It would seem that this massive Battle already has begun.
THE PRESENT THE STATUS OF JERUSALEM Knowledgeable tour guides go to great lengths to describe Jerusalem as being "Holy" to the three main religious groups in the area - Jews, Muslims and Christians - all of whom claim the city to be THEIR'S. How to solve the problem of legitimate ownership is humanly IMPOSSIBLE, either through political persuasion or military might. Only through unconditional LOVE, do we see any hope of a settlement mutually acceptible to all three parties. May we suggest that JESUS ( not the organised church) is a Perfect Mediator in this dispute.
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE QUR'AN AND THE BIBLE <<>> ALSO ISLAM AND CHRISTIANITY Many people who have never before studied Islam may be surprised to know that names such as Jesus, Abraham, Moses, Mary etc, are as common to Muslims as they are to Christians. While there are many similarities, there are differences. The Qur'an if full of contradictions and what it lacks most is the concept of "Unmerited 'AGAPE' Love" or GRACE, as reflected in the Life of Jesus - the "SUFFERING SERVANT". The idea of forgiving a person before he has apologised, is completely foreign to Islam. Christians are taught to hate sin but to love the sinner. In Islam, it would be against the will of Allah to love a "sinner" before he has apologised and fully paid the price for his "sin".
