DOUGLAS PFLUG B.Sc BIO
Doug started his athletic career as most young athletes in high school. By the end of high school, Doug lettered in Varsity football, varsity Wrestling and Varsity Track and Field. During those years Doug won several accolades highlighted by Wrestling team MVP, W.C.S.S.A.A City Wide All Start Football Team.
Doug was heavily recruited by many local universities and chose to attend the University Of Guelph. While at the University of Guelph, Doug earned two athletic letters in both Varsity Football and Wrestling.
Doug left University after securing a position with the Guelph Police Service as a frontline constable. During that time Doug continued his athletic pursuits and competed internationally in various Provincial, National, State and International Law Enforcement Track and Field meets. Doug won over 32 medals in these events highlighted by a silver medal in the javelin and bronze medal in the hammer throw at the 1998 International Law Enforcement Olympics in Birmingham Alabama.
In 1990, Doug joined the Our Lady of Lourdes football program and coached 8 seasons, high lighted by two senior and three junior football Championships from 1991 to 1995.
In 1995 Doug was interviewed for the vacant Strength and Conditioning position with the Guelph Storm Hockey Club and was the successful applicant. Over the past 11 years Doug has been responsible for the player’s year round off-ice conditioning. During that time the team has posted .587 win percentages highlighted by four Master Card Memorial Cup appearances and two Ontario Hockley League Championships.
Doug currently holds an Ontario Provincial Level 3 coaching card and is an assistant coach with the Guelph Girls, Under 11 rep Soccer team. Doug’s daughter Reighan is one of the better members of the team and is a year younger than her team mates.
Doug is also the sprint and throwing assistant coach with the Guelph Lightening Track and Field team where his daughter Reighan is also a member.
At the 2006 Ontario Indoor Provincial Track and Field Championships, Reighan was crowned the Provincial Tyke Long Jump Champ and she received silver medals in both the 60 meter and 100 meter sprints.
At the 2006 Ontario Outdoor Provincial Track and Field Championships, Reighan was crowned the Provincial Tyke Long Jump Champ, Atom 400 Medley relay Championship, a bronze medal in 200m sprint and 5th in the 100 meter sprint.
In February 2005, Doug was promoted to the rank of Sergeant with the Guelph Police Service.
Doug maintains a very vigorous work out regime and lives an extremely mentally and physically fit lifestyle. He brings a wealth of practical experience and knowledge from many sports to the coaching table. His enthusiastic, high energy approach leaves players with an empowered attitude and their workouts with Doug that will assist them greatly in their respective sports and lives.
Doug has trained over 80 elite professional and amateur athletes over the past 15 years.
Doug is 40 years old and lives in Guelph Ontario Canada with his wife Kathy and daughters Reighan 10 and Alexis 2.
