Sand Harbor Beach will host the 2nd Annual Indigenous Storytelling Festival. The Indigenous Peoples Institute and Space Science 4 Schools will embark on their 2nd successful, collaborative Non Profit, event. “On the cutting edge of a paradigm shift!” “Friends of the Indigenous Peoples Institute”, just make the dream go. The three day Storytelling event was a smashing success and brought together, Indigenous representatives from all over the world. 11 Nations were represented. People attended the event from as far away as Minnesota and even words from New Zeelands Maori, reached the event. It was surreal! Our Goal– Celebrate & Honor Diversity. About Last years event? In the words of "Babe" Dr. Darryl Wilson -
We will remember June 19th as a day, from sunrise far into the evening when our spirits moved among greater spirits and goodness was all around. It seems like the Great Powers turned us softly in their hands, connecting us heart to heart and after weaving was accomplished, there beside the beautiful lake nestled a great basket full of dreams and sweet tears. That weeping, dreaming basket will greet us at the lake shore for all of the seasons in the future. Although the Great Powers weaved the basket, we are each the design weaved thereon.
nonresidents may phone event organizer Sheila at (775) 831-6693 in advance if they wish to attend.
