RAWHIDE ! Move'em out! This western ran from 1959 - 1966 and was quite a popular action show considering the main plot was a group of cow rustling cowboys were always moving steers/cattle from here to yonder. The best remembered character was the 2nd star actually, Clint Eastwood who played Rowdy Yates ahh - "Play Misty for Me" & "go ahead...make my day!").
I was most fond of the trail boss himself, Gil Favor played by Eric Fleming. Sadly, Eric drowned in 1966 right before the series ended.
Every dramatic western seemed to need a comedy relief cowboy person. For Rawhide that was the cook, Wishbone played by Paul Rinegar. An old white bearded fellow who must have had one heck of'a bean recipe. His "chuckwagon" was often the center of the stampede action and he was quite a colorful character.
Reckon they really loved them ole' baked beans which seemed to be the food of the traiL? I suppose it was one of them foods you could pack lots of in a sack! add some "fat back" and it blend with the aroma ~ of riding along with all 'em steers every day! LoL !!
