Titles of Hazrut Essa

Titles of Hazrut Essa

Here are some titles that the Koran Kareem Gives of Hazrut Essa that we should consider as we learn about Allah's great Mercy

I. Kalimut Allah, the word of Allah....Surah 3, Ali Imran , speaks of the announcement of Al-Mesih's birth where he is given the title of Word of Allah...Hazrut Essa did not only speak the words of Allah....He WAS the word of Allah. Just as we can learn of the hidden wants and desires of a person through his word revealed so can we know Allah more fully through his word Essa Al-Mesih

Note: In some Hadiths Muslims speak of the Umm Al-Kitaab...the golden tablets where the word of Allah has been recorded for all eternity....if the written word of Allah is eternal...how much more Allah's Living word Essa Al-Mesih.

compare this passage from the Engeel (New Testament) with what has already been mentioned about Hazrut Essa as the Word of Allah

Engeel, 1John 1.1-3

1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father( Note: I.e.; Allah Ta'alah), and was manifested unto us;
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father(Note: I.e.; Allah Ta'alah), and with his Son,(Note: I.e.: another way to Messiah), Essa Al-Mesih.

II. Hazrut Essa is Mentioned Many times as.... Ibn Mariam....in the Koran Kareem.(Son of Mariam)

Allah in his great Mercy sent His Word Essa to live among and to know all the Joys and Hardships of this world...no one can say that Allah has no compassion...for in his mercy he experienced through his living word...Essa.. all that we as his servants must endure
consider these passages from the Engeel

Mark 6.4

2 And when the Seventh day was come, he began to teach in the
House of Prayer: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?
3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mariam, the kinsman of James, and Joses, and of Judah, and Simon? And are not his kinswomen here with us? And they were offended at him.

and again regarding the Word of Allah as flesh and Blood:

4 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the one and only of the Father,(Note: I.e.: Allah Ta'alah) full of grace and truth.

III. Rasulallah, Hazrut Essa was also called the Rasul or Messenger of Allah....if so what was his Message? to answer this we need to look further on at another title that Sayidna Essa had.

IV.AL-Mesih...this name means the Chosen or Anointed one....why did Essa out of all the Prophets and Messengers alone carry the name the Chosen one? what was he Chosen for? Dhoul-Kifle named Isaiah in the Torah, or Old Testament composed a prophetic song about Al-Mesih and this is what he said

Torah, Isaiah 53.1-8

Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our grief, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was bruised for our Wrong Doings: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he

also the Engeel records....

in Engeel, 1 Corinthians 15.3-4

or I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Al-Mesih died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

As Al-Mesih Essa was to die as a Adha Sacrifice for the wrong doings of mankind and to bring forgiveness and peace...just as in the Eid story Allah provided a sacrifice (a Ram) to die in the place of Nabi Ibraheem's beloved son, so the boy could go free.
We are under Allah's holy law too, and deserve to die a spiritual death for our wrong doings.

..yet Allah sent Essa as a Adha Sacrifice to pay our price that we may go free to serve Allah...we know Essa's Adha was holy and acceptable to Allah because Al-Mesih rose to life three days later.

Essa himself said in Engeel John 11.25

Essa said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he was dead, yet shall he live.

what confirmation do we have that this indeed Allah plan from the very beginning? the Very name of Essa should help remove any doubt

many times in the Koran Kareem the name Essa is mentioned. the name is a variant on the Aramaic...Eshoo and the Hebrew Yeshua.

it means: The L-rd Saves.

consider this passage from the Engeel: Mathew 1.22-25

1 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Essa: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, Allah with us.
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his Fiancée:
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Essa.

These Koranic names of Hazrut Essa are a part of our Islamic Heritage as such we as Muslim should consider fully what Allah was trying to teach us through these names and respond to him out of love and gratititude as his Servants.
