International Car Exchange SIG
The International Car Exchange (ICE) is an NMRA special interest group catering to model railroaders who enjoy running cars of other model railroaders on their own pike while one of their cars travels, via the postal service, across North America and Europe to another member's model railroad.
ICE functions in a round-robin fashion with groups of ten members exchanging cars each month. Each member prepares his exchange car to visit another member for a month at a time with the car returning home at the end of the train's one year run.
Your only obligation is to forward the car on hand to the next member at the end of the month and to report arrival and departure data to the train conductor.
Besides receiving a car-of-the-month you will gain new friendships with the other ICE members and share a monthly newsletter, the "ICE Report".
Dues for 2006/2007 are one dollar for e-mail members, $5.00 for non-email members. At this time the initiation fee is suspended. The postal cost for each month of shipping cars is minimal.

The current train, The Merchandise Express, has almost completed its run with the next train due to roll out early in January. There are but two open member slots remaining in the consist.
