IOCCP-SWS Asia Chapter -- Inter and Intra- Organizational Collaborative and Consultative Program of the Society of Wetland Scientists Asia Chapter* Updated 8/7/2006 and 01/12/2008

Established and Headed by Prof. Isidro T. Savillo, Regional President, SWS Asia Chapter

09/12/2007~ Invitation for Wetland Scientists belonging to SWS Central Chapter and SWS Asian Chapter as well as SWS members around the world for Collaboration in Wetland Research has been announced by Shane Staten, President, SWS Central Chapter through the SWS Secretariat. This came about as a result of communication exchanges during 2007 SWS Board Meetings between Shane Staten, President, SWS Central Chapter and Isidro T. Savillo, Regional President, SWS Asia Chapter in Sacramento, California, USA. Moreover, Dr. Patrick Megonigal, President, SWS Org. has recently recommended that besides the SWS Central Chapter, other SWS chapters will be invited to collaborate with the SWS Asia Chapter.


01/2008- 5/2008- Memorandum of Understanding Between the Society of Wetland Scientists and the Construction and Planning Agency, Ministry of Interior, Taiwan was agreed by both parties represented by Dr. Patrick Megonigal, President of SWS and Director- General Charles Chin Rong- Lin, respectively, for the joint organization of the First SWS Asia Chapter's 2008 Asian Wetland Convention and Workshop in Taipei, Taiwan.

*IOCCP-SWS Asia was established after the 2006 SWS Annual Meeting at Cairns, Queensland, Australia
