HURSTPIERPOINT CRICKET CLUB

Hurstpierpoint Cricket Club is a friendly Mid Sussex cricket club that plays a good standard of league cricket on a Saturday in Division 1 of the Mid Sussex league. Although we have never won the league, (at the time of writing) we have come runners-up 4 times, last year being the most recent, to add to our 3 year run, from 1989 – 1991.

As well as the hard fought league season, we also have a thriving Sunday fixture list, with a full schedule of friendly matches, running from April through to September. The club has almost 50 members and welcomes new players, and families who are interested in getting into the game.

The clubhouse and bar area, is consistently thriving after matches, with a fully stocked bar, small pool table and hot food bar menu of burgers, chips and even fry up’s. The club is situated in open, quiet and picturesque parkland, set away from the busy Cuckfield Road that runs through Hurstpierpoint.

The club was established in Circa 1770 and we believe we are one of the oldest Cricket clubs in the country. Although the club has no youth, colt set up it does have a number of colt players, all pushing for their place in the Sunday side, as well as some staking their claim for the league team.

All in all, we are a friendly and well established Cricket club that play the game in the right spirit and with the right attitude. The social side of the Club is our main strength and we are becoming more and more famous every season for our elaborate and extravagant teas.

AND NOW IT IS YOUR LUCKY DAY AS HURST CC IS ON THE LOOK OUT FOR ANY NEW PLAYERS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN PLAYING AT A LEAGUE STANDARD IN THE HURST 1st TEAM ON A SATURDAY. INDOOR NETS BEGIN AT HURSTPIERPOINT COLLEGE SPORTS HALL IN FEBRUARY (DATE TO FOLLOW) AND ANYONE INTERSTED IN JOINING THE BEST CLUB IN MID SUSSEX IS MORE THAN WELCOME TO ATTEND - WATCH THIS SPACE!!!
