1972 Summit Series Game 1 - Team Canada vs. U.S.S.R. - Historic moment in hockey history, the first Summit Series game would take place in Montreal. It’s Ken Dryden vs. Vladisev Tretiak. Tretiak is spectacular in net and the over confident Canadiens get their butts kicked 7 to 3. Valerie Kharlomov is spectacular in this game and throughout the series, he scores a pair of goals in game one to help the Soviets to their first win in this historic series. This CBC broadcast is good to very good quality throughout.

1972 Summit Series Game 2 - Team Canada vs. U.S.S.R. - Other than game 8 this may be the best game of the series. After being embarrased in game 1 Team canada new it would have to come up with a stellar effort to defeat the Soviets. Team Canada comes up with a solid effort defeating the USSR 4 to 1 in front of a sold out crowd at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. This CBC broadcast is complete and good quality throughout.

1972 Summit Series Game 3 - Team Canada vs. U.S.S.R. - Team Canada blows a 2 goal lead and the USSR ties this game at 2 evening the series at 1 win apiece and 1 tie. The late great Valerie Kharlomov scores an awesome goal, and the announcers call the line of Annison, Lebedev and Bodenev the “headache line” as they are involved in the last 2 goals and give Team Canada a lot of headaches. This CBC broadcast is good to very good quality.

1972 Summit Series Game 4 - Team Canada vs. U.S.S.R. - Game 4 is a partial game starting approximately 9 minutes into the second period. The Soviets win this game 5 to 3. I have all 3 goals that Team Canada scores and 3 of the 5 goals that the Soviets score. The Soviets are intent on embarrasing the Canadiens at “their sport”. Bill Goldsworthy scores a nice goal and registers a real nice assist on a sweet goal by Dennis Hull. This is a French broadcast, after this game the Soviets are leading the series with 2 wins and a tie to Team Canada’s 1 win and a tie. Good quality throughout.

1972 Summit Series Game 5 - Team Canada vs. U.S.S.R. - An incredible comeback by the Soviets!, after being down three to nothing entering the third period the Soviets looked like a beaten team. Tony Esposito is spectacular through two periods of play. The Soviets score three minutes into the third period giving them some momentum but Mr. Summit Series (Paul Henderson) gets the goal back and restores Canada’s three goal lead. The Soviets explode for four unanswered goals and take game five in grand style. Absolutely a fantastic game and despite letting up five goals Esposito is spectacular in net. This CBC broadcast is good quality throughout.

1972 Summit Series Game 6 - Team Canada vs. U.S.S.R. -
