Hockey Classics 4U

I want to thank everyone who came out to
the Toronto show! It was fantastic! I had the opportunity to meet former WHA and
NHL goaltender Gillies Ratton whose famous goaltenders mask hangs in the hockey
Hall Of Fame. This mask is arguably the greatest goaltenders mask ever
made!

Ok, let's take a look at some new games,
fights and more!

FIGHTS: North
American Hockey League, Volumes 1,2 and 3

VOL. 1 - The
North American
Hockey League is a rough and tumble league north of the
border. Featuring Jacques Dube who racked up 366 minutes, former NHLer Sylvain
Blouin (256 PIMS), Jason Hamilton, Link Gaetz, another former NHLer who managed
117 minutes in just 22 games. Donald Brashear makes an appearance, he was
reportedly paid 300 grand to play for the Radio X and managed 260 PIMS in 47
games. Running two hours, it appears all fights were shot with camcorders, my
source obtained these right from the masters so the quality is very good
throughout. Great fights from a rough league!

VOL. 2 - Picking right up where volume 1 left off and continuing for another two
hours, if you like great fights you’ll love this DVD! Featuring line brawls,
melee’s, blood fights, ko’s drops and more! Link Gaetz and Donald Brashear make
appearances in this volume as well Paul Shantz, Jacques Dube, Sylvain Blouin,
Jason Hamilton and more. Quebec vs. St. George in a fantastic line brawl! Coming
directly from the masters the telecast aspect is very good throughout.

VOL. 3 - The usual suspects are back at it again in volume 3 from last years
NAHL. Brashear, Gaetz, Shantz, Dube, Lessard, Bajurny, several line brawls,
blood fights, knock downs and good old fashion drag ‘em out throw downs which
will make the hardcore fight enthusiast very happy! Running 2 hours and coming
directly from the masters the telecast aspect is very good throughout.

Philadelphia
Phantoms 1996 to 2004
- Featuring nearly 10 hours ofPhantoms fights! Craig Berube, P.J. Stock,
Todd Fedoruk, Frank "The Animal" Bialowas, Francis Lessard, Jesse Boulerice and
many more! Featuring bench clearing brawls, line brawls, blood fights and of
course goalie fights! This is just a flat out fantastic fight set running nearly
10 hours. The telecast varies in quality from fair to very good. Some fights
have been shot with camcorders while others are directly from team footage. My
friend Tom put this together and you won’t find better quality anywhere as this
set comes directly from the masters!

Chicago Wolves 1996
to 2000
- WOW! This set features 4 DVD's totaling nearly 8 hours of
fights from the Chicago Wolves while in the
IHL. The IHL was a favorite league of mine and had some incredible teams,
players and fighters during the let 1980's up until their demise in 2001. The
Wolves not only won the IHL's Turner Cup twice but also won the the AHL's top
prize their first year in the league suprising many experts. This compilation
features 4 DVD's, all fights. I made the first volume so you might see some
overflow between the first two DVD's. I decided to add my DVD to this set making
it 4 DVD's to give you, the viewr the most comprehensive Wolves fight DVD
package out there. The quality throughout most of the DVD's is very good and
features fights from many former and future NHlers including Dennis Vial, Kerry
Toporowski, Chris LiPuma, Kris King, Al Secord, Danny Lacroix and more. Includes
some great "stuff", the coach from Cleveland goes nuts throwing gum, a clip
board, water bottles and a stick at a ref over a call! This is a must for
Chicago Wolves fans!

New Highlight DVD's - most of these are
transfers directly from film or are from the masters so the quality is
excellent!

Blades Of Summer
- Here are the highlights of those fantastic games between the greatest hockey
players in the world – Canada, Soviet Union, USA, Sweden, Finland and
Czechoslovakia. The passion and excitement builds through the tournament until
the screaming fans in Copps Coliseum cheer Team Canada to victory for the Canada
Cup. The euphoria of that victory will be remembered for years. Absolutely an
incredible series and this highlight DVD is incredible detailing all the games
of the tournament, AWESOME!!

Tournament Tempo/Gay
Blades
- Gay Blades/Tournament Tempo, 1946, 56:51, b/w, sound

A Hollywood talent scout convinces a hockey star to try making it in the movies,
much to the hockey player's regret. Starring Allan Lane, Jean Rogers and Edward
Ashley. Technical advisor was Ossie Asmundson, who starred for the NY Rangers,
NY Americans, Detroit Red Wings and the Montreal Canadiens in the 1930’s and
40’s. Close ups of the actors are shown playing hockey but most game scenes are
from actual games between NHL teams of that era. Of course the viewer is to
believe that the game action is of the actors in the movie.

Lord Stanley's Cup
"The Ultimate Prize" - An absolutely fantastic
documentary hosted by Dennis Leary on the myth behind the Stanley Cup, it's
journey after players win the cup and the journey to try and reach the ultimate
goal of having your name engraved on Lord Stanley's Cup. Featuring interviews
with players, coaches and fans, an amazing highlight DVD.

Vic Stasiuk
- "NHL COACH" - A Documentary film on rookie coach
Vic Stasiuk and his team, the California Golden Seals. Film starts out with
action between The Seals and the Chicago Blackhawks. Bobby Hull scores 2 goals
in the 1st period and the Seals (particularly Gilles Meloche) get a real
ear-bashing from Stasiuk in the dressing room between periods. The scolding
apparently didn’t work as 11 seconds in to the second period Hull gets his
hat-trick… Stasiuk is livid. Tensions rise, when Ivan Boldirev and tough guy
Keith Magnusson duke it out. The Seals manage a goal and head to the locker room
after the 2nd period down 3 to 1 and once again Stasiuk is furious. In the 3rd
period Stan Mikita scores, the Seals lose and Coach Stasiuk blames the
refereeing in a press conference after the game. Stasiuk narrates the film for a
bit as the Seals (in their white skates) are shown at a team practice. The next
game finds the team down to the defending Stanley Cup champion Montreal
Canadiens, 2 to 0 after the 1st period. Walt McKechnie scores on Dryden 32
seconds in to the second period, followed by Stan Gilbertson, tying the game.
Larose scores for the Habs just before the teams break before the 3rd period.
Wayne Carleton scores early in the 3rd to tie it up again. Stasiuk wants a win
bad, but has to settle for the tie, after verbally bashing the referees once
again all period. The film ends with another team practice. A very interesting
film, not much footage around of the long defunct Golden Seals.

New York Rangers
"A 62 Year Tradition" - Produced in the 1980's this
fabulous insight into the New York Rangers hockey club features footage dating
back to the 1940 Stanley Cup Finals including footage from the game and
interviews with Billy and Bunn Cook during the intermission of the Finals! This
stuff is incredible for Rangers fans and vintage hockey fans!

WHA

1974 WHA
Documentary
- No titles or end credits. Highlight film of all 8 games
played between the WHA (Team Canada) and the
Soviets series of 1974. Bobby Hull, Gordie and Mark Howe, Frank Mahovlich,
Backstrom, Bernier, Cheevers, Henderson, Webster, Macgregor and more for team
Canada, coached by Billy Harris. Tretiak, Kharlamov, Petrov, Gusev, Mikailov,
Shadrin, Maltzev and the great Alexander Yakushev for the Soviets. Somewhat
reminiscent of the 1972 series (at least the Russian team, Henderson and
Mahovlich), although Canada lost this series. At one point in the film it is
mentioned that Bobby Hull missed the first series through no fault of his own,
and that he made up for it in this one. Like the 1972 series, there were 4 games
played in Canada (Quebec, Toronto, Winnipeg & Vancouver) and 4 in Russia. Also,
as in 1972, there were lots of shenanigans going on, by both teams (Howe was a
real menace) but more so by the Russian team, at least that iswhat you are lead to believe. There are also
highlights of team Canada against Finland, Czechoslovakia and Sweden. This film
appears to have been made by Hockey Canada, not just as a highlights film, but
also as an analytical film on the Russians style of play. An absolutely fabulous
documentary and a must for WHA fans!

2/2/75 - Cleveland
Crusaders
vs. Quebec Nordiques -
I
had the 16mm film transferred to DVD. This rare footage has never been seen.
Black and White. No Sound. Excellent quality. Two thirds of the game is here, 20
minutes are missing. Steve Bernier runs his consecutive point streak to 13
games. Scoring 2 Goals and assisting on another in front of 13,398 fans in
Cleveland. This footage is a must for WHA
fans!

OK, this is the latest update. I
will try to get the website updated and straightened out so in the meantime if
you're looking for anything please don't hesitate to email me. I'm also looking
for any IHL, ECHL, AHL, College and pre 1990 NHL games. I will also transfer
your BETA TAPES at NO CHARGE!, contact me to see if it's something I can use.
I'm also looking for any WHA and any audio games pre 1980.
