Hit exchanges

Hit exchanges

The thing that I have learned about hit exchanges is that they eat up
valuable time and bandwidth. This time could be better spent with
better results posting ads in directories and on bulletin boards.

Now I’m not saying they are not useful in some ways but they don’t
seem as effective as other methods. They have had their time but
are going the way of FFA’s, outlived their usefulness.

Too many people are surfing 5 or more at one time and can’t be
bothered to look at your site more than briefly. It saddens me when
I see the ads for instructions on surfing 10 or more at once. You see,
I used hit exchanges when they were effective. I still belong to a
number of them and use them occasionally. The novelty wore off
a long time ago.

People say that putting your links on them increases your link
popularity with search engines. They caught on to that long ago
and it can actually hurt your ranking. The links they want to see
are from sites with content. The only exception that I know of
is the pay per click search engines and they don’t care as long
as your money is good.

The hit exchange programs started sprouting up years ago. It
seems like every Tom, Dick, and Harry started one just to
build their mailing list. Now they are everywhere, just like the
FFA’s were once.

Well, now you know my opinion of hit exchanges. Think about
what you have read. Is there any truth to it?

Tips to remember when choosing a hit exchange.

The exchanges that move from top to bottom are harder to cheat.

The ones that require you to answer are the best.

The ones that require you to pick the right symbol seem ok.

If they have an autosurf option, Don’t even bother.
