Document Description: Essay explores major reasons the framers of the United States constitution created the Electoral College, how it has evolved over time, how it has failed in its original purposes, how it threatens democracy, and how terrorists could use it to elect a President.
Document History: Created as a writing sample in competition for a writing-related job in early August 2007. Revised afteward, then published to the web in mid-August 2007, reworked somewhat in mid- through -late August 2007.
